It's definitely a quick car. We did 3 races on the highway. I had a passenger with me so whatever hp increases I gained from headers and xpipe were definitely negated by the passenger. The C63 driver was riding solo. His car was black, no front plate, and smoked tail lights. The thing was LOUD for a stock car.

He followed me onto the highway and we did the classic 3 honk race. The first 2 runs I started in 2nd gear. We went from about 45-120 on both of these races. Each time, the C63 would hang with me for a split second and then I'd just pull on him hard.

The 3rd race was at a little lower speeds, around 30mph. I was in 1st gear. I got lots of wheelspin and traction control was fighting to keep the car straight. I pulled him even harder this time and beat him by about 10 lengths. After the race, I gave him a thumbs up and told him to follow me back to the meet, but he kept going. Props to him for running me though.

My impressions are that the C63 is a very, very quick car. I think it could hang with a 996 911 Turbo.

I don't think your header/xpipe (maybe reflash also?) gains are much negated by you having a passenger, but nice comparison. Always fun to read/see comparisons of 2 amazing cars !

ii also have a 175 pound system in the trunk that i got hooked up today no doubt he beat me and it was a good race but i knew he was going to beat me when he said he had a z06 but when i do some work to it maby ill stay with you lol ....by the way this is my girlfriends name because i dident get a chance to sign up so she made it and put her name for some reason lol

Nah dude, it's a pipe dream to hang with a Z06. You'll need well over 650 ponies and no system. Plus an LSD. You're driving around a 4,000lb+ car, remember.

Yeah, that's why we said before we ran that it was just for fun and just so I can see a C63 in action. I knew what the outcome would be but you probably had the fastest car at the whole meet so it was either I race you or go home lol. Good stuff man, catch ya next time.

its def better around corners than the M5, IMO


i would think that the straight line would be the biggest advantage for the v10 powered bimmer

but nah......i think aside from maybe high end speeds, the C63 should have it beat all around

If Bobby had a passenger, and our new member C63 owner had -175 lbs of amps , the cars should have been closer, guess the C63 is making 450 hp cause Jangy walks Z06's and loses to E63's daily

A V-10 M5? The V-10 would DESTROY a C63 in every aspect of the word.You cannot even compare the 2.

Now if you mean the older V-8 M5 w 400hp then yeah,the C63 would own it

i dont have personal experiance but ive read that the c63 handles better than bigger and faster AMGs

im asuming it would be the same when compared to the m5




and btw......i was looking at an audi S6....also a v10 with lots and lots of horses

the C63 blows it doors right the heck off


so i dunno much about the m5, but v10 dosnt always mean better than v8

The V-10 in the BMW makes 100hp/liter&revs to 8000+rpm,it's a excellent engine.Much more powerful then any comparable naturally aspirated AMG engine.
In this case the V-10 is better then the V-8 if your comparing a M5 to a C63.
I'm not impressed with any non-turbo Audi so I pay no interest to them.

I would put my money on a M5 around a road race course any day if it's racing any stock AMG,even the Black Series

btw, IF C63 has the "full" ponies of 63 engines, lets say 510hp, its so much lighter than M5 V10 so that would be close in lower speeds.

The Z06 and the Merc C63! Two of my favorites! The downside to the Vette is the cheap quality IMO of the interior. Hopefully with the newer upgraded leather package it will bring the interior up to par with the rest of the beast. My neighbor down the street has a Z06 and can't drive a manual for the life of him --- and he still kicked my *** in my C32.

People are forgetting that in addition to having 507 ponies, the M5's SMG 7-Speed is a close-ratio gearbox that gives it a stark advantage in a straight line at highway speeds. My car dyno'd at 426.8 rwhp, that's 25 less wheel horsepower than a C63 makes at the motor. Combine that with the distinct advantage of the SMGIII and the very tiny weight gap of the 2 cars, and I think you can do the math.

I'd be happy to put this to rest with any of the local C63 guys. NY, NJ, PM me and lets roll film.
