2009 Multimedia package

Just spoke with my salesperson today about adding the multimedia package to my existing order, I have also asked if it was possible to ask him to do a comparison test using the tunes from my ipod. I was informed that the 2009 package is slightly different than the 2008, it is "better", so what he is going to show me next weekend will not be the same, but better. Just want to pass along this information to you all.

Anyway, does anyone know what the difference in the suspensions between the performance package & the standard ones (in terms of difference only in the coil springs or completely different springs & shocks altogether)? I might have the dealer install the standard one, if, the one from performance package turns out to be way too stiff (I'm sure my lady will let me know if it is).

I was looking at an 09 SL63 a few weeks ago and the Multimedia looked the same as in the C63. I got the Multimedia pkg and ipod interface in my C63. I don't care for the iPod interfaceTpo. The placement in the glovebox sucks and the cord is too short. Maybe "better" means you can see the iPod interface on the screen??

Great, I did order the ipod integrated kit originally. Now that it's included in the package, it's even better!

I believe that 2009 C's will come with the new media adapter which lets you control the ipod on the command screen instead of the instrument cluster. If you have a choice, get the newer system as the functionality and interface is superior to the old ipod kit.

Its going to be a software update more than likely. I haven't hooked up an iPod to my SL yet, but will let you know if you can control from the COMAND itself.

MM package

There is some new developments with integration of the Iphone which allows display of email & text messaging.

This figures as the Ipod integration is getting developed more & more.

This appears to be software driven apart from the new Ipod connection.
