Heard a rumor that the waiting list is as long as 1 yr now.

I was inquiring about getting a C63 and a friend who knows someone that works at the local MB dealer told me the waiting list is close to 1 year now. I'm still trying to contact the guy at the dealer directly to confirm but that would be a real bummer if it's true. That would just eliminate any chance of me getting this car because I don't think my current car will last long enough for me to wait that long.

It may be true for some dealers yes, but definetly not for all. Up until recently I worked at MotorWerks of Barrington in Chicago and we've had 2 units free with no one putting a name on them. So, for his store, yes, their waiting list might be a year depending on the number of orders and the allocation for the cars, but in other dealers cases, the demand hasn't hit just yet.

Maybe in Hawaii, but certainly not true in the mainland. I've talked with dealers with 09's on order with no names attached to be here soon.

In the Toronto area all the C63s are spoken for. If you want one you have to wait until October for the August production models.

The fastest you able to get in seattle area is end of January next year (2009), if you put downpayment today.

A good sign of the average waiting list is what they're reselling for. Ok, that's a sign of some other things too, but let's not get into that.

Seen a few pass through eBay recently. Buy it now seems consistent at $79 and change, seen bids go above $77,500.

Won't be selling mine (June 20th production) but love seeing my car reselling above msrp. Haven't had that since my '01 e46 M3 (ist one in NC back then). Sure beats losing 20% the day you drive it off the lot!

The wait list is not two years in the States...I did see that you are in Hawaii, where it may very well be that long given your dealership's allotment...I would still think that they could dealer trade with another and get you one quicker.

I just returned from MB of Pompano, one of the major large dealerships in S. Florida. I inquired with the sales manager and he said delivery for a 2009 C63 in which if you ordered this week is estimated to be Sept. 2008 - therefore that's only a 3 month waiting period, roughly. And you can order it with the PP if you desire. MSRP is what you'll get when it arrives, no dealer markup on ordered cars. BTW, they have a white C63 in the showroom.

Interesting....

Change of the guard. When the E46 M3 came out, the waiting list was a year.... you couldn't get one. Now, with the latest generation of supercars, the M3 is sitting on the dealer lots with markdowns, while the C63 is in short demand.

Any idea how many of these cars MB plans to produce?

At Phil Smart yesterday, I was told August 08, but it'd be an '09 model. $2500 down up front. Refundable.

I was ordered mine back on December. and finally put $2000 Refundable Down Payment on Early February. at that time, they told me the fastest I can get is on First week of June BECAUSE some one canceled their order. IF, I dont put down payment at that time, the fastest will be Late January.

My sales person was Dun Fuller and Kim Mc. Millan. and They are BOTH AMAZING person!

I recommended you to find KIM Personally.

Thanks for the input. I just wish they had a demo! They told me that the owner drives one in on Tuesdays/Wednesdays, but no test drives, or even rides around the block. Maybe if I show up and ask really nice, he'll at least start her up for me...

When I lived in Seattle the E46 M3 was just coming out and the waiting list was ridiculous so I ordered mine in Portland and picked it up. Have you guys checked with any dealerships down there?

I live in Houston now and just ordered a C63 on Friday and it will be at the dealer in October.

For the new E92 M3? I actually test drove it, it's a stick. It's a great car, but not like what I am expecting, or maybe I was expecting too much tho

The BMW dealership (in Downtown) got E92 M3 In stock I believe. I dont know if it's sold yet today.

Hmm...what I meant was for the guys in Seattle that are having to wait so long for the C63, was wondering if the wait for the C63 in Portland might be any shorter for them.

I have no desire for the E92 since I just ordered the C63.

I feel very fortunate that I was able to walk in to a local dealer, take a 25 mile test drive home to show it to my wife and walk out with it that same day.

Traded my 2007 911 Targa 4 in on it and have no regrets.

Which dealer in Houston? I had to order one in Austin to get it in August, otherwise I was told October.
