yea, I took the video of that run and tuned the car with him..... it's the procede v2, 13.9 psi, stock runflat tires, K&N drop in filter..... no weight reduction, we did weigh the car that day, it 3600 pounds....

The 335's have peaked and are now getting S L O W. Stock they are running mid 13's to low 14's.

Yeah I saw Terry run 11.89@114 butthat car had it all includingthe greatesttire set up of all time. Warren my buddy and recorder of many 335 records does 12.20-12.40 in his chipped machine but man o man I have seen that car simply blow up after a few hard launches, C63 get out and run , all this chit chat and no track #s...COMON do it

Well according to C&D test, stock C63 traps 116mph in the 1/4 mile, while these heavily tuned 335i's only manage 114mph, meaning C63 has a definite edge from a roll. That one chipped 335i that was running 12.4 @ 114mph is certainly not the norm for chipped 335i, usually its only high 12's and around 110mph trap speed with just the ecu .

chip with high octane is gonna get you low 12's to mid 12's from what i have seen on these 335i's.. of course the driver mod helps, his 1.8 60' is nice

I was gonna say the samething! .... I can't wait to see a C63 with a flashed ECU!! C'mon guys just think! its a 63 motor pushing 451hp, Someone will be pushing it up to 507hp... if not 525hp.

No question - if you're talking stock C63 to modded 335, it is one thing. But modded/modded is a different story.

we need to see some C63 owners get the track so we can see some trap speeds.....

Sorry to say but I also have to say, who cares? You are comparing an AMG with a basic bmw, not even an M. You can tune any car to be fast. I would only buy the 335i because it is a relatively fast car and reltively cheap. But the truth is that the car interests me about as much as a 325i. A -93 Toyota Supra with 1000bhp would interest me more. The stock 335i I have driven have not impressed me. The fuel consumption however impressed me...

I might be able to lay down some numbers this Friday. The C63 is getting revised Powerchip software along with VRP filters, we will see what kind of numbers it posts.

Okay, I've adjusted my attitude. Sorry to be such a fun pooper. Truth is... I'd love to see the C63 beat every other car on the planet's ***. I won't stick my nose up and be all "who cares... it's a mercedes" anymore. I sounded like an idiot for someone who loves Top Gear so much! By the way, did anyone see the gas mileage edition where they raced the Prius around the track with an M3 following to see which would get better gas mileage?

FWIW, i think the real question is, what car will win on a track. it seems that the 335i puts up just about the same skid pad, braking, Slalom numbers. i wonder how a V2 335i would do on the track aganist a c63.
FWIW, the 335i runs on RFT tires. its a very impressive car when looked closely at, with better tires then the RFT, it can probably out brake, Slalom, and skid pad the c63 without a problem.

Sorry but NO WAY is a stock 335i going to beat a c63 in braking, slalom or anything! With the standard 3 series chassis and brakes and no LSD??? You must be kidding me? you might be right if you are talking about a 335i coupe with the M sport chassis and upgraded brakes, but common a standard 300bhp 3-series??? I think I am going to stop reading these posts, because not long ago to say that a regular standard 3-series with a littlebit more power than a standard car will beat a AMG with a 150hp advantage and huge brakes, would probably end in banning that person, but now it seems to be a trend. The STANDARD 335i wont be even close.

Have you ever driven one to say this???

Ok! lets take this further. I have driven the 335i several times and got similar gps:ed times for an E39 540IA M-sport than a standard sedan 335iA when tested.

You may be underestimating the 335i. Edmunds testing shows the the E92 335i outperformed the C63 in braking, the slalom, and received an "excellent" handling rating to the C63s "very good." Both cars' skid pad numbers were at .89g. The E92 was on stock runflats.

I have the 335i. It is no slouch. I know it is no C63, but it certainly offers impressive performance for the money particularly with the cheap piggybacks available.
