Question Elegance grill on C63?

Ok, I knoooow I am gonna get flamed for this and probably attract haters like a magnet but hear me out...

Have any of you out there considered changing the C63 grill to the 'Elegance' version? (I'm talking about the 'standard' MB grill style like on the S-Class)

Maybe it's just me but I kind of like the classic grill style, it kind of brings back memories of 'classic' AMG cars like the 190E Evolution 16V and so on...

I guess this brings the question: is it even possible? Does anybody know if the C63 hood could fit the 'standard' grill? Anybody done it? Photoshop?

Can't wait to hear what you guys think... (as I zip up my Nomex suit...)

I would imagine it is very possible.

There is an extremely easy way to check whether or not it will work: get the part # for the C63 grill and compare it to the # for any other W204 Avantgarde. If they match, then the Elegance grill will fit in perfectly.

It may look good, I know that in the rest of the world the AMG Sport Package can be ordered on Elegance model 204s, that should at least give everyone a rough idea.

I think about that all the time, I would love to do that and even get the star back on the hood also.

i know i see some c300's driving around

and they must be the luxury version because their grill dosnt have the big star in the middle of it.....

...instead it got the old school star hood ornament

From what I understand your C63 grills will not fit our vehicles so the chances are that our grills won't fit yours either.

I agree that the w204 looks great with the classic grill. Not sure that it would fit on the c63 as it has a revised front end and while I like the sportiness of the sport grill and plan to keep it, I wouldn't knock anyone for switching either - a benz sedan is a benz sedan - great memories of the AMG aftermarket conversions of the 80's - especially the 190E.

I'm actually thinking of doing that, in addition to removing the C63 AMG emblem. My wife thinks I'm crazy, 'cause she knows if it comes with the standard grill, I'll do the exact opposite. Well, she's probably right about that!

IMHO, i think that grill looks horrible

the C63 is designed to look aggressive, not elegant

that grill totally kills it for me

You know, I thought I'd like this too... until looking closer at those pictures. IMHO, leave it stock, unless you can get a three bar aftermarket grill without the star... either bodycolor-matched or CF. I think Brabus makes something similar?

Good idea though... and styling mods are definitely in the "beauty is in the eye of the beholder" category.

I definitely would want to add the star hood ornament if I did this mod. I wonder what it would look like if you get a three bar grill like from the Brabus Bullit and add a star to the hood with that... Maybe paint the star to keep the monochromatic look...

Yeah I agree, I would love to have the star on the hood also but the grill would have to be changed to accomodate the star because I think together it would be overkill.

I'm having the same problem, unfortunately eventhough the elegance grille is interchangeable with the standard avantgarde, it doen't fit in the c63 because the shape is slightly different.

It does look terrible. The point of the AMG C63 is its almost a Street GT racer. Or one of the DM class race car. The point of the AMG grill is to distinguish it from the land yachts in the MB line. If you put on that other grill you will probably be accused of being a AMG poseur.
I just dont see any upside to this
After all this car is an Axe murderer with headlights according to Jeremy Clarksen and there is nothing elegant about this monster.

Hardly, I quick look at the brakes and a quick listen to the exhaust would immediately give the monster away.

The elegance grille on the regular W204 with the AMG sport package looks good, but picturing it in my mind it just doesn't seem to look right on the C63 with the specific C63 front fascia.

The C63 grill doesn't fit on the regular w204 so, the w204 lux grill wouldn't be a bolt on for the C63. I'd like to see a brabus/vaeth style grill made to fit for the C63 though, that would look awesome.

I know there is a difference. But the regular C300 sports package has almost the same grill as the C63. To me its more of a personal preference. Having the old-school style grill reminds me of the 80s era DTM cars.

So true! When I see a w204, my eyes instinctively go to the exhaust tips (if from behind), or the hood (if from the front). If I see the meaty quad tips, and/or the right bulges in the hood... it's certainly caught my attention

Anyone installed a K1 motorsport CF grill yet on a C63? I'm dying to see how it looks. Saw it on Frank's C-class and it looks sick. Can't wait to see it on the beast!

all i can say is everyone has different taste...

I dont want my c63 to have an elegant look, but rather aggressive look.

Here it is a C63 with an Elegance grille. It's not a perfect fit, but it's close enough
