Experience with Clear Bra install

Has anyone applied a clear bra to their C63?
I had the windows tinted yesterday on my MY09 Palladium C63 and inquired about the clear bra (paint protection) installation costs. The cost is just north of $800 so before I pull the trigger I figured I'd ask you guys for some insight.
Thanks

depends on how **** you are

ive had a F430 with the clear bra on it, and from up close you can see the borders of where the bra ends

also depends on where you live...im from NY, so its probably very usefull here

if you live out in the sticks, it might be better to save the 800

but then again, those tiny little paint chips from when pebbles hit ur car on the highway kinda make me said

all depends on personal preference, location, and situation

Appreciate the response.... I am not so **** that I would really mind a visible line.
The installer says that it is not very noticeable and the only color he would not recommend it being done on is White. I live in Dallas and both my Porsche Boxster S and 350Z had seen their fair share of rock chips even though i have a bra on 40-50% of the time.

yea i mean its not soooo bad

i'll put it like this, other people would look at the ferrari for hours and not notice the line

i on the other hand would

im leasing mine, and its white, so i'll probably not go for the bra

maybe if u own, or plan on keeping the car for a long time it maybe worth it

for some reason the C43 i had back in the day would get hit hard with those highway pebbles

the lexus on the other hand not so much

Shaker

Mines Black and the line on the clear screen is hardly visible.

The car sits low on the road and definetly gets hit by all the FOD on the road. Bugs come off easier also!

Well worth it in my view.

Anything with BOOST
IMO I wouldn't own another car without 3M/Ventura etc. Everything I currently own is protected. Its great piece of mind and even though you have a Silver(hides imperfections better) its a no brainer investment on C63. I have a Seal Gray Turbo and you can see the line slightly, however that is much less an eyesore than rock chips and road rash.

Here is some info on basic C-Class models but it's something to go by.

https://mbworld.org/forums/c-class-w204/253813-clear-bra-picture-comparisons.html

https://mbworld.org/forums/c-class-w204/251848-clear-bra-dealer-crap-imo.html

Yes the clear bra can be removed but from what I hear it's a pain which is expected with all the adhesive coverage.

CLK 500(Gone), C63 FTW!
800 is a good deal I think...I never interested to put clear bra,but my dealer quoted me around 1200-1400...which is I prefer to repaint the hood instead of putting that stupid clear bra....I am very **** about my car...and I dont like, in-fact I HATE, the line on the car...just my $0.02. Mine is White, and for Last Emperor I bought the car, not leasing.

Some people think it "skanky" without a bra. Personally.... I love to see the nipples without a bra.... I like to see the natural shape without a bra. I love the natural movement without a bra... I better stop here... but me... I like no bra.

What I like!
I have Ventureshield clear bra on my car, not a full hood wrap so... yes you can see the line. There is also a VERY slight color variation where the bra is, even though I have a Steel Grey car... you can still notice if you really look. I don't think I'd do a clear bra on a white car unless it was a full hood wrap. Venture shield is supposed to be better than 3M at resisting yellowing though.

I paid $895 and it was cut from a pattern/kit so there are a few spaces that are not covered. However, a custom full wrap job (where they remove the badge, etc and work from one large sheet) would be more like $2000.

It's my first time doing a clear bra on a car and I'm glad I did it. There is already a small chip in my front chrome grille but no chips in the clear bra. And yes, easy to wipe clean! One thing I noticed though is that it seems to absorb acids like bird crap. There was a TEENY dot of bird doo on the clear bra and although I wiped it off, I can still see where it was. I don't think paint would absorb the acid/whatever like that.... so, it prevents chips but it's not perfect.

Ok... my last post was a little out of line. But truth be told. When I got my M3, my biggest regret is not getting the 3M Bra... which was the big name then. I live in Germany... drive fast on the autobahn regularly.. and got lots of paint chips. I don't really care about being able to see it or not. However, there is a new thing I have discovered here in Germany. There is a company that polishes down the paint super smooth and puts a coating over the entire car that is super hard and protective and will not chip... I may do that.

..... but then again... I kind of look forward to too many paint chips so I can repaint Brabus Bullit style!!

shaker: I had the clear bra on my 335i and I am glad I got it. It really stopped a lot of pitting since I drive a lot of highway miles in my job.

I am not sure why the technician recomended not using it on a white car.

When I just sold the car a week ago it was flawless where I had the clear bra put to protect the car.

Good luck on whatever decision you make.

Thanks to everyone for sharing.... I am going to go ahead and set up the appointment for a Sunday install.
As for what the tech said about an install on white I will ask him why he mentioned that... could be just the type of film he is using as well. Thanks!

i know 2 very good shops in brooklyn

but to be honest, ive never dealt with having to install something like that, so you should call and talk to them

or ask ppl here, if one clear bra product is better then the next

and things to look for when yyou have someone install
