MP's assistant called yesterday to update. Claimed Transport Canada and Ministry of Natural Resources(They do the actual testing) are investigating the irregularity. This is a good thing as it wasn't rejected right up front. Stay tuned. should know later in the week.

Called me Friday to say that MB Canada and Transport Canada were working together to re look at the numbers on the C63 and E63......stay tuned.

Hey North, has anything ever come of this or is it basically a dead issue?
Just wondering because my car is on the water right now headed this way. In fact, I think you mentioned in another post your car was on the Tortugas and so is mine. I guess its suppose to arrive in Halifax on the 21st! I just can't wait!

just bought my C63. had long discussion at dealership re: guzzler/green fees. stated that they had heard of mix up but can only collect and pay taxes as assessed. 1950 is a huge difference. how is the detective work going?

The $2000 guzzler/green tax shows up on the MSRP sheets that MB dealers in Canada print off using their Evista ordering system. The dealers are charged the tax on their invoices when the cars come in.
