Track Testing Tomorrow
I'll be making some baseline passes tomorrow at National Trail (which is a relatively slow track on the whole) allowing me to record some pre-tune data. The only thing I've done so far is put 500 miles on the car and remove the charcoal filters.
I'll keep everyone posted with uncorrected and weather corrected numbers as soon as I get back.
Thanks

Just to let everyone know, we first plan to offer tuning, follwed by longtube headers/exhaust, CAIs/Filters, ported manifolds, and then some serious internal fun--in that order.

...and for the record, I can't wait to get rid of the OEM drive by wire lag in the pedal. The car hesitates at LEAST half a second (probably 7 tenths or more) when downshifting to WOT in any automatic setting. The extra power won't be a bad thing either.

MBWorld Fanatic!
Halleluya on the throttle hell. This protecting us from ourselves drives me nuts -- I had the first year S197 GT - when the first diablo tune came out I was tripping over people to get to the order button! What a diff that made.
Hey MHP - what is the cost of a stock ECU - so I can start mulling about the concept we chatted about (swap CPUs having two).
cheers and have fun on the track!

LOL, well as I once again proved tonight what works on the street doesn't always work at the track--and vice versa.
On the street I use manual mode, ESP off, powerbrake to 1000-1200rpm and quickly and smoothly go WOT. At the track today that resulted in a bog and played a role in me hitting the limiter on the 1-2 shift.
On my other three passes I used sport/auto and turned ESP off. Smooth application of the throttle was netting me consistant 2.0-2.1s (on a terribly prepped pad). Next time I'll have to try launching with ESP on or in sport mode.
Ultimately these cars need drag radials BADLY at the drag strip.
