So what is the final word on limited slip differential?
When I first learned of the car, the idea of driving so much hp/torque, rear wheels only, and no LSD sounded odd to me. Initial thought was that I would never buy the car without it. Now that there is starting to be some inventory build up, in colors I like, at better prices, etc. I am getting tempted to just pick up one without the PP and forget the LSD.
Can some owners chime in that do NOT have the PP/LSD... in bumpy or wet condititions, have you found yourself white knuckled because of handling/grip problems, etc.?
Normally I wouldnt worry about LSD except for the track, but with SO much power to those back wheels....

anyone else?
Pretty much all I care about from the PP is the LSD, and curious to hear from those that have lived without it for a few months now

05' 997 C2S cabriolet; 08' white C63
i dont have pp on my car and i have a 08 so i dont have lsd. but when straight take off if i floor it my car will spin 1st 2nd and 3rd thats with 255 in the rear and both tires spining. now i put 275 in the rear that car is a beast of line. with 255 in the rear i would run 0-60 in 4.05 to 4.20 on my g-times with 275 in the rear i run 0-60 3.82 to 3.99 with good take off.
Thanks in advance for any information.

For street racers or posers it really is semantics.
How many people time posers?
Put it on a track and then timing becomes interesting.
How many people track a C63...tell me ..I have not seen any?
You get more performance out of a 3 day Skip Barber course than you ever will with ecu, lsd and all the other MOD's total BS driven by the tuners!

Just so you know I wasn't directing my last post at yours, just making a general statement.
I haven't driven non LSD equipped C63 so I can't really comment on how they launch on the street. I do know that even with the LSD I got signficant wheelspin at WOT from a dig unless I rolled into the throttle. Now with the Nittos (285/35 DRs) outback I can brake stall to 1800rpm without spinning; this is without dropping the pressure and heating the DRs either.

I've only hit the drag strip so far (for pretune baselines) but am trying to get to at least one or two OT events before the season ends. Hopefully I'll have the P30 suspension and brakes on by then...

I think we should clarify between racing on a "track" and a "drag" strip in posts.
Two completely different worlds!
10 or 12 seconds on a straight "***** to the wall" drag strip versus 30 minutes, 60 minutes on a road course. Not really comparable!

Not really comparable, but the LSD is necessary at both venues so it doesn't really matter.

ediffs are better than nothing but still not as good as a traditional mech. LSD.

Even with the ESP off, that little blinking light will come on, because the e-diff CAN NOT keep up. If you do ANY tracking, or even just drive spiritly on the street, you TRUELY WANT/NEED a REAL LSD.
See yeah

Have you heard anything about a DCT transmission in the future for the C63?
That would definitely be on my list of options!!
I ordered White before but I will order Black next time (Black really looks great in person)

2009 C63 AMG Black on Black PP Package CF fully loaded
Andy: I cancelled my C63 order that I had placed. I did not have the PP P30 package on it. I will definitely order the P30 when I order the C63 next year.
