I feel sorry for the clowns who paid over invoice. I say this to you guys because I think ya'll should wait. You can get new M3s for 5K off right now..
I'm just saying....
on another note, the new M3 has to be the ugliest car on the planet and the 335i is better looking and can be much faster.
Man they f8&ked themselves.
The car gets 11mpg? what the C36 get..should be around 18?
I get 21 Mpg on the hwy in my E55..11MPG when I step on it.

M3 Sales
Being a BMW owner I feel like the M3 might not be selling because the money you are paying for the new one you can invest in a 2year old M5 or just tune the 335i. People have a lot of options, with that money but thats just me......

Where are you getting these selling figures? or just taking a wild guess?

I bet in SoCal there's a 5k markup or at minimum MSRP....

I think the 335i really killed it.
It took the whole glory away from the M badge.
Who wants to spend 70K on a car and have someone blast you in a non M 3 series.
New M3 chassis changes happen and modded E46M's can blast a new M and that is OK. When the M is tuned it can bash the E46M and that takes time and there is some good time battles with the owners. The wild card is the 335I..I mean it beats up everyone..it's kind of a whaaaa???? situation...
Maybe they want to sell more 335s and that was the reason..

As far as looks it looks like a freakish bug chick type car or somthing. The C36 looks really aggressive and cool.

I have been reading the BMW forums, it's over 5K in some cases where dealers are going 7% off..

That happens, Modded E46's can blast a new M and that is OK. When the M is tuned it can bash the E46M and that takes time and there is some good time battles with the owners. The wild car is the 335I..I mean it beats up everyone..it's kind of a whaaaa???? situation...

Most of the ones on the lots, at least in SoCal, are going for 70K. Add that to the fact it has a V8 in this economy, fuel efficient or not.

And I did choose the 335i because as much as I like the V8, I have mixed feelings about the looks of the new M3. And at 3700 lbs... blah... BMW talks about all this weight savings w/ the new engine and the CFRP roof and it packs 200-300 lbs over the 335i coupe and E46 M3

Who knows... if they cut the price I would definitely consider one

I did see one in person and yuck man...I was thinking about buying one.
I like the C63 but I need a second car that has a clutch, I already have an AMGslushpowermonster.
I think I should just get another GT3..996 that is...there are some serious deals out there and the GT3 is the last car to not come with electronic panic buttons..

Nope. You can get 6 speeds for under invoice here in the OC. DCT's go at under MSRP but over invoice.

And don't anybody get too smug, this will be happening to the C63 in short order.

Well...it's a very subjective statement here -- C63 is not really a beautyqueen either...

u sure on that the C63 is better mpg wise?

Back in mid April, when i decided to order the C63, my BMW dealer was trying to get me into their M3, and he told me that he would discount the car for me, when he heard that I might be leaning toward their competition, he called me and offered $5000 discount, I dont know if it was due to the fact that I might purchased my wifes 5 series last year from them, nevertheless, it was a huge discount for such a supposedely sought after car....to this day, they have seven on their lot!!! MB dealers around here have ZERO on their lot.

You have to realize that the poor economy is generally affecting the whole auto industry. The IS-F alone with only very limited amount available for the U.S. (about 3,000 units) is still not completely sold-out. The M3 with about 25,000 units for the U.S. market is going to have a similar problem. Now in terms of looks, that is obviously subjective to personal taste and opinion. I for one really like the e92 M3 coupe's design, even though at first i wasn't too sure. But on the other hand, i really don't like the e90 M3 design, or the e90 design in general. Compare to the new C class design and especially the C63, hands down it looks much better than the e90 M3. I also prefer the IS-F's looks much more than the e90 M3's look. JMHO.

Cars sales are in the tank across the board. C63's are not exactly flying off the showroom floors either. $1500 to $3000 off is about the norm.

people are only getting 5k off on the sedans... '08's for that matter. you can even get 2.9% financing on 08 sedans and convertibles if you want right now.

it's not 11mpg, you're getting it confused with the M5/M6 which gets about 9mpg. the C63 gets about 13mpg if you want to look at it that way. people are getting about 20mpg on it. plus, why care about mpg when you're spending about $70k on a car? if you have to worry about high gas prices that much, then buy a Prius.

nothing to do with the car, it's the market, you can get a CLK Black for about $100k these days and a used E55 below the $30's.

looks are subjective and you're comparing modded 335's to stock M3's. did you see that video with the Dinan Stage 3 vs. a stock M3? yeeeeah.

After today everything is going to be cheap and even if the price is cheap just getting the money can be hard.
Just because its priced high or low does not match the true integrity of the car.
I think the best deal in the world is a 16K C32 with 50K miles on it.
As for the whole "IF ya care about gas don't buy the car comment", yes that is a logical statement last year. Now gas is an issue and our cars will be outdated very quick. All new gen cars will have tech that deals with the shortage issue. It's not about being a baller with cash in your pocket and worrying about gas. It is a global issue now and cars that make 13mpg will not sell well and never will again.
Pricing is an issue too. If I have money I will be going for a CLKBLK and pay the difference to get that car in a heartbeat over a C63.
