MHP Track Results
Sorry guys, literally just walked back in my door.
UNBELIEVABLE NIGHT.
I'll get down to it since I'm flat out exhausted, I'll fill in the details tomorrow.
I made my first pass of the night at 11:29 PM, after arriving at the track at 5:15PM. That's right, 6hrs of waiting for 1/8 mile cars (aka "door slammers") running high 4s to mid 5s to break every 3rd pass. I honestly don't think I could've picked a worse night to run...
Anyway, I only got 1 legimate pass in which was my first run. Here's the vid: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i6qf83rLE80
60': 1.97 (2000rpm brake stall)
330': 5.27
1/8: 7.95@92.47
1/4: 12.19@116.46
This pass corrects to:

Absolute Pressure: 29.31 Inches

On my second pass which happened at 12:43 AM (LOL) I tried to raise my launch rpm to 2200, which I was successful in doing. The downside was I forgot to turn the ESP completely off--I have no excuse other than being slaphappy. I felt the car bog right off the line and knew the run was toast instantly.
60': 2.01
330': 5.34
1/8: 8.04@91.74
1/4: 12.32@115.46

Overall I'm pleased with the results even though we didn't break 120mph. With a tenth better 60' on my first run I would've ran a 11.9, and had I not used DRs a 119+ trap would have been very realistic as well.
One last thing I'll mention before showering and passing out is that I ended up swapping back in my initial tune (I have 2 spare ECUs for my car) earlier today with the intent on testing both at the track tonight--obviously that didn't happen. The shifts on this ECU are set at 6/7 (1-10) and the shift points are 7100rpm. Next time I hit the track it will be with the more aggressive ECU (firmness at 8/9 and raised shift points) right off the bat.
I'm going to meet up with Rock for some roll action tomorrow morning (lol a few hrs from now I guess) so I'm sure I'll have more to add then.
I'll also get a video of the speedo/tach so you can witness the consistant redline shifting and what a freight train this car now is. Getting out of the hole is going to require some practice but once it gets moving mother of God does it move out. Also worth noting I hit 2200 miles on the way home tonight so the car is still rather green. My previous best was 12.89@111.5 (actual) with 600 miles on the car.
Sorry to rant on, I'm a bit delerious at this point but again will post more input tomorrow.
Thanks!
Andy

Andrew,
My friend and I met you at Summit last night. We were the two college kids who couldn't stop staring at your car during the 6 hour wait before they let DOT's on the track.
I took some pictures, and I wanted to post them.
It was a pleasure to meet you, and I am excited for future updates on your products and your times.
The pictures aren't the best, but all I had on hand was a point and shoot.

Weather permitting, I will be at Norwalk again next Friday. I would be happy to video tape your runs, or you can use my "Sticky Pod" camera mount to position a camera anywhere in the C63.
Here are some angles that I used yesterday night/this morning:

I've been browsing through some of your threads, and I believe that you will be in the 11's with a higher trap this Friday.

Nick,
Thanks for the encouragement and offer, I truly appreciate it. I saw you mounting the camera last night and had no idea the video quality would be that good. I may have to take you up on that! Looking forward to another fun night, but this time with at least 4-5 runs.
Thanks again,
Andy

Ok I watched the vid,
Very impressive run.
What happened at 46 seconds into the vid? Were you on the gas? Looked like your car shifted as exhaust is coming out, watch your wheels? You definately bogged a little and also drifted slightly out of the groove.
That car is very fast, couple things
The Nitto tire is hard , 5-8 second burn out if you stage immediately. I think the tires cooled off too much after yer burnout. During the burnout try and hold 3-3500 rpm in first rather than spiking, the long cool down will be erased by your burn out, this can be mitigated by a steady controlled burnout. On a coolish night it is crucial you stage quickly to keep the heat in yer rubber.
Im impressed with your ET and Trap,
Please post on
www.dragtimes.com
I also need to get you on the fastest 63's list!! Please post your slip in the thread

GREAT eye Juicee. I noticed the same after watching the vid a few times. Looks like the car falls on its face, which is due to me overshooting the converter. The exhaust coming out while I'm staging is due to me brake stalling to 2000rpm. Good call on the groove as well, I didn't see that.
Again you are correct. I've used Nittos for years (first back in '98 on my then stock longblock Cobra) and they do require a long hard burnout. I definitely didn't do them justice on the first pass (cold pressure was 18psi, perhaps I should've dropped to 16-17) though that was a 2nd gear burnout. The second burnout was much better, a good 6-7 seconds at redline in 2nd gear. Too bad about the ESP.
Question. It seems that someone else (I have no idea who) posted pics of my car and stock run on that site already. Can I edit that data or should I start another entry altogether?

The owner of dragtimes is a member here. He likely posted the info which is fine. So long as we have an accurate record for each pass in your car.
Feel free to post all your details in the fastest 63 thread, I love the fact you are using the same site I did to correct all your runs. Comparison between our cars will be very informative.
