Changed my diff fluid yesterday

Well at 2200KM, which is about 1400 miles took it to my dealer to change the differential fluid, I know it is not entirely reccomended, but suggested. Its seems only common sense after breaking in a new car of this stature to change these fluids. There are always the new metal shavings etc that simply should be removed. The cost was $225.00 for all parts and labour plus a free detailing job Well worth the piece of mind.

From what I understand, all these parts are thoroughly tested and pressurized from the manufacturer...so metal shavings are a thing of the past in the first 1K miles of the vehicle.

The AMG motors are tested 1 in 10 will be pulled off the line and tested full out for 24 hours, then ripped apart for inspection. I dont remember if it is 1 in 3 or 1 in 5 are pulled and checked for leaks.

Dont worry the 1 in 10 that gets run full out doesnt go in any car.

This should give you some more piece of mind.

Buy the way 1st AMG, there is nothing wrong with taking great care of you motor, good for you.

i changed my 1st oil change at 13xx mile and 2nd at 58xx miles and planing to change it agin at around 9000 to 10000. my car runs great so far. i have about 7100 miles now and about 6000 miles of abuse. and the best part of it is the car keeps getting faser. i love it. take good care of your car, if you can afford to lease or buy this car you can afford to put 93 gas and change you oil every 4 to 5k. trust me it will be worth it in the long run.

you car looks hot with does wheel good luck.

I thought a diff change is included in the price of the car - is that a US only thing?

My car has the LSD and it is recommended that an oil change be completed after 3000Klms. Mine has now done 2750 and I will be sending it in for the change at the end of next week. I will let you know what the cost is - but I would be surprised if there is any cost.

I must say though that it has been 2750 of the best kilometres I have ever done!

I see you at least observed the break in period as those are the only miles on your car that havent been abused according to your qoute, I am definetely in the same boat, the car with this powerplant etc is meant to be driven hard IMO. I totally agree with you on the gas octane as I put the 93 and changing the oil sacrelegiously, it is totally worth it. Thanks.

I certainly did post those part numbers numerous times, but here you go again: Front- B66031047 19x8.5 ET45......Rear B66031048 19x9.5 ET54. Try ordering them, I dont regret it one bit, the car has a completely different demeaner, tons of compliments as opposed to the OEM 18's.

I agree, even at double the price it is well worth it. Much better to be SAFE than SORRY!
I just drove from Dallas to Montreal (1880 miles door to door) a few days ago. Great trip! I must say that I too always insist on fueling up with minimum 93 octane howevere in the mid-central states only 91 was available. After stopping at 3 different stations I needed to fill so had no choice. I filled up one more time before leaving Ontario and entering Quebec and was quite surprised when I pulled up to the pump to find 94 octane, Sunoco Ultra 94, I think it was called!

Yes, still in Montreal. I had planned to get to Ottawa and was going to look you up via PM. Our trip got delayed by a few days due to Ike and i needed to get a new front left tire (damaged by road debris we beleive, dealer changed it no question no charge) so did not leave Dallas until late Monday.
We had a family commitment for Thursday, so that side trip to Ottawa did not work out, sorry. I hate the 401 so was planning to go back via the US side by crossing border near Kingston, leaving on Thursday. I still have an 'old' friend that I would really want to see in Stitsville so i will let you know.

Too bad my car isn't here yet or I would meet up to. I have an old friend in Stitsville as well.

The SKU for the wheels (Front- B66031047 19x8.5 ET45......Rear B66031048 19x9.5 ET54) is in the US parts system. I had a quote from MB USA distribution outside Chicago that was around $3500 USD for the set but wound up getting the from my dealer for $3600 (wholesale).

Just ordered my P-Zero's Friday so the should be mounted by Friday. Now if I could just get the car...LOL

GREAT!! Very predictable. All we have had in Toronto the last 5 months is heavy rain, rain and more rain. First year I have not had to water the lawn.

Same or better than the PS2's ( 3 sets in 4 years on my C55). Got a great deal on the P-Zeros (Take offs from a C63) so I thought I would try them on the 55. I do like them. A LOT!! Not quite as quiet as the PS2's but with the sound coming out of the C63....this should not be an issue. So nice all around that thats what I ordered for my 19's
