First Impessions Of My New 09' P30 package C63
Picked up the car Monday morning at my New Orleans dealer. My options that I ordered are listed in my signature. My price GRAND TOTAL out the door was $66,770.00 even. My dealer MB of New Orleans and sales men Leo Flotron III were true professionals from start to finish on the whole deal, hats off to my dealer. The car only had 14 miles on it when I picked it up, so I was happy for that. At my request my dealer only did a limited PDI / clean up in order to limit any undue "test drives" of the car.
Now the car, WOW!
That sound, torque, seats. The sound is everything everyone says it is. Sounds like a big block street rod. Nice low tone at idle, yet blip the throttle and.....HELLO!
Fit and finish seems to be to notch, nothing negative
to say here. The alcatara steering wheel is nice, but nothing special. Similar to the one in my Boxster S.
As for the "I-Drive" type control system, I like it. Having never had a BMW with this system, I had no reference of any positive or negative aspects of said system. It only took me a few minutes to master the use of the control knob. I have had very limiter use with the Nav system, but what I did use was easier than my Porsche system and almost on par with my Honda System.
Engine and drive train, not much to say yet because I am driving conservative for break in. I was not revving the engine past 3500 rpm or so. Even at that low rev limit and limited pedal effort you can still feel the great torque that awaits.
Now on to the Performance Package suspension. In a word Firm. If you are coming from driving a sports car (Z06 or Boxster S Porsche) for example you will find the ride similar and on par with cars with a performance suspension option. If you are looking at getting a C63 with the Performance Package Suspention coming from a car with a touring suspension, you may well be disappointed in the ride quality. This is not to say the ride is bad, just firmer that normal. As your speed increases the suspension starts to come into its own. Overall the suspension is everything I hoped it would be and am 100% happy with the ride and response of it.
The brakes will also put a big grin on your face. The stop like a sports car weighting 1000lbs. less. The pedal movement is nothing and you stop.
That is about it for now. I will wash the car and post some pics this weekend. I do have a few thing I am not sure of and or still working on:
*The brakes upgrade that came with the Performance Package only had the aluminum hats on the front brakes and not the rear, is that correct?
*Still trying to get my Iphone 3G Bluetooth to work. The phone does not see the car and the car does not see the phone.
Love the car, 300 miles and counting. Sorry for the long post.

Hey Good Luck! I only have 60 miles since getting it yesterday...its been raining heavy here, sooo I'm waiting for a few clear days to go for a nice ride.

With the performance suspension do you notice the ride height being any lower? Eliminating any wheel well gap? I ask because i don't want to put lowering springs on the performance package suspension and ruin it.
Thanks
Thanks for the write up. I don't think I want the PP package. Its only going to get more firm as the tires wear. They are nice and soft now, but will firm up in about a thousand miles.
Now go out to the Super Walmart and slap some K&Ns and add another 20HP to the beast.

congrats to you anyhow!
