The new H&R Springs For The C63 Are Out!
FYI the H&R springs for the 08- C63 AMG (not the standard W204 C-Class)) are out.
The part number is (29028-1) and is listed as a "Sport Spring" with a .75 inch drop and have a list price of $469.00
Do you guys think the spring rate is the same as the "Performance Package" springs? Stiffer, Softer? And what about the guys with NON PP?
My car has a full PP and do not want to change out a spring to lower the car, yet to find out later the spring is less than what I have now.
Comments?

CLK 500(Gone), C63 FTW!
my local shop informed me 2 weeks ago...but for H&R $469 is a bit too much...I used H&R for my audi a4, 3 series, w203 ,etc..all around 200-300 MAX! For the audi a4 I bought 2 sets, one for 150-170'ish...so, I am not sure to get it or not...
PS: I Dont have the PP package, that's why I really wanted to change it-_-

We need to get a few cars together around the country somehwere and test the Non PP cars the PP cars and the ******* PP cars (mine)
Everyone is saying that the PP springs are TOO stiff. Like Chris called out on Drivers republic that he would like a LSD car without the PP springs. We need to find out what the H&R springs are within the set of springs we have to test.

If the PP springs are too stiff, then are the shocks the same on PP and non-PP? I like everything about the PP with the exception of the stiffer suspension.

Sin City I wish we knew!!
does the PP come with different dampers?
Now that Big Benz is in San Diego and I am sure
there is someone in the SoCal area with the PP
we could get Benz car the PP car and my Car
(LSD NO springs) and do a little test and see what
feels like what.
I live 210 miles north of San Diego but I will
be in Anahiem on Nov the 8th testing some new cars for
some secret manufacturer. we could meet then and
see what we come up with?

$469 is retail. Street price will probably be around $375.

www.allsprings.com has a great price at 300.

The price of most (physical, not electronic) mods/upgrades is relative to the price of the car being upgraded. The more the car costs, the more they figure you will be willing to pay for. R&D and materials vary only a little.

This would be true of any other car except Mercedes and AMG.
What you said is true even for Porsche But there are some high exhausts and high tuner costs on this AMG car!!!! 10K for an exhaust is a great example!!!!

I have a few cars in the area that I would like to install and try out. I will let you know if we get to install a set.
We have been carrying H&R for years, great product. I've had their springs and coilovers on several of my cars. Thumbs Up!

If that is the case, then the springs should be about the same rate as OEM, other than being .75-1.0 inch lower.
Need more info on this.

I've got the PP on my C63, but won't be going the H&R spring route. As I understand it, if you want to improve the handling and the ride at the same time you go the KW V3 route which is what I'm going to do.

Troy, I'm not a expert by no means, the "track ready" has something to do with camber adjt as far is the part numbers both PP and non PP both cary the exact part numbers for springs and shocks (IAW the MB Customer Service) and Brabus, My limited knowledge tells me if you use say a shorter spring
1. Stifen the ride
2. May affect the under or oversteering
3. All those micro switchs may not work as intended ( i.e. Anti-dive etc etc)
But it will have a killer look

With all things being equal, something has to account for the stiffer ride. Lets look at it in the most simple way. Camber can effect under steer and over steer but as for driving in a straight line, their would be no way to change ride quality based on a camber change (for a street car not race car). The stiffer ride is a result of the shock valving and or spring rate. Because the ride lever is the same for PP and non-PP cars, I would put my bet on shock valving.
Having said all that I may be thinking old school, I freely admit I have very little understanding of "active suspension" or any anti-dive type technology. I could see were if you change that anti-dive or rebound technology via the ECU lets say, you could get the same results as a shock valving change.
