Help! MM Radio (No Pwr. No Blown fuses) W204
I have done a quick search and nada! The command unit has no power (from what I can tell)
Radio worked yesterday but today no power.
Here’s the info;
* My question is:
1. Can anyone tell me how to open monitor hatch with no power? (Yes, I have pushed the buttons)
2. What fuse & where is it for the command unit, since I can't find any blown? ...I believe its 11 & 26? ...I have no literature confirm.
I know how to remove the command unit.
Thanks for any help and insight!

Here’s the info;
- I have VIM installed.
- Radio/Command has no background lights on.
- ESP, hazard, heated seats and rear shade all work & have background lighting.
- I Checked fuses in front and trunk (no passenger fuse box) and found no blown fuses.

bigbodybeeenz... that's seems just to odd. same happened to Rick Hunter on the same issue in my other post on the regular W204 forum https://mbworld.org/forums/c-class-w204/268074-help-mm-radio-no-pwr-no-blown-fuses-w204.html
I wonder if anyone that does not have the VIM/Backup installed has this issue?

bigbodybeeenz... Guess what, it worked this morning when I moved it to get my Porsche out!
That sucks because I really wanted the patient to be sick so I could find the problem.
Chalk one up for the electronic gremlin!

If it happens again, I will contact the Midcity Engineering guys to see what the problem could be, but I got my fingers crossed.
Nothing worse than a "sometimes" problem.

I had this happen on mine too.
Everything else working fine just the Comand system failed. As it was evening I left it until the next day and it all seems to be working fine....!!!
No reason at all for it.
Mark.

Yes to VIM no to backup camera.
I had a part sent over from Germany that allows VIM.
It is not a MidCityEngineering part.
Very helpfull chap from Germany, I initially thought it didn't work so queried it with him and it turns out that there was an update on Comand in the summer time. Anyway after some communication I had to reset some jumpers in the box and it now allows VIM.
Linky...

Anyway I've not had a recurrence of the problem so I thought it was an isolated incident.

I had this same issue...I talked to TJ at MidCity and apparently it is a MB known issue for the W204. Next time it happens, pull fuses 7 & 17 and then reseat them. It should reset the COMAND and pop up screen.
Worked like a charm for me.

My LCD screen died on me, don't know if that plays into your problem on whether it was the command system or just the screen. I don't have the backup camera installed (yet).
The screen would flicker here and there over a period of 4 weeks and then suddenly died one day; dealer had to order a brand new screen.

I know I'm bringing up an old thread but the same thing just happened to me and hope this will help someone as well...
I have VIM from Mid-City Engineering as well..
Got in the car tonight after not driving it for about 2 days to go for a cruise to Jewel and..NADA, ZIP ZILCH, the whole COMAND unit wouldn't work and not even the lights on the radio console lit up..
Tried pushing all the buttons, nothing..
Turned the car off, restarted, nothing..
Turned the car off, jumped out, locked the car, waited for all lights to shut off, started all over like I had just walked up to the car, nothing..
Drove to Jewel, pissed off, came back, read MB world, this thread, went to my car, opened up the trunk, the trunk liner, flipped open the FUSE map, checked all my fuses in the drivers side engine fuse box, took out FUSE #17, 26, replaced them back in and WA-LAAAA!!!
Everything started working properly, back to normal, sigh of relief..
Man I love MBWorld..thanks for heading me in the right direction guys

This happened on our R320 and no blown fuses. I pulled the fuses and put them back and the command centre started working again. Only happened the one time. I was not sure what cured it but was happy it came back to life and has not recurred.

Same thing has happened many times on my C63 AMG. I am thinking about pulling the Mid City unit out. Anyone know if you can hook a backup camera directly into a stock Command unit and have it work by just enabling it throught the engineering menu?
