I along with North44C55 also have the 19" wheels of the PP and we use the 18" 5 star AMG OEM wheels that come with the car in North America, for you it is the same wheels that come with the non PP C63 in europe, so that is an option, factory is always best, secondly any 18" with the correct bolt pattern and the proper offset(most important) shall do, the offset is ET45 front and ET 54, fronts are 18x8 and rear 18x9, good luck.

I don't have a C63, but faced the exact same situation as you with my IS F. I live in the Canadian rockies and had to have winter wheels and tires as well. I went with 18" OZ Ultraleggera's with Bridestone Blizzak LM-25V and have been very happy with them. I can provide pics if you would like. 225/45/18 at all four corners. Hope this helps you

WTF is it with this influx of ISF-trolls(tm)?

Go to your own forum. He was asking about specific fitment not recommendations on style and tire type. Sorry to direct this at you - but this is now getting silly.

How is what I posted being a troll? He asked a question about the exact wheels that I own and about winter set up.

I haven't said anything negative to any of you.

Ironically, I just got back from the MB dealership and was just looking at the C63 and ML...but even if I do get either, I'm not sure I want to be associated with people like you.

GUYS!!!

Everyone has to take a breath and lighten up. It's much more respectful to play nice and share information. That is what this forum was once all about...

Just my humble opinion and not meant to offend anyone.

AGREED. The user was being as helpful as anyone else. It doesn't matter that he has an ISF or not. Heck, I don't own a MBZ, but I started this forum, does that make me a troll?

PLAY NICE PLEASE!

thanks

Thats the issue I found. Couldn't find a "decent" 18" wheel with there correct O/S. Thats why 1st AMG and I both went with OEM 18's. Not sure on the weight though. Nick?? did you get a chance to weigh yours?? I would guess about 24lbs F and 26lbs R.

I very well have an Enkei Racing application for you guys if you want light. Remember, these are from the same Company that MBZ F1 uses!

Let me know and I can check on Monday.

thanks

The offset is 18 x 8 for mine. I thought the offset was the same (that's what it lists on tirerack for the C63?, but the OZ don't appear available.) Maybe give them a call, they were great to deal with.

Barry, that sounds about right, i remember reading that somewhere at the dealer, but the transition from going to 18" and 19" was nothing but painless due to the fact we went with the OEM setups, real easy, quality would never be an issue, offset not issues, fitment no issues, vibrations no issues at all, my experience in the past was not always rosy with going to aftermarket, but i cant speak for everyone, so my suggestion is to try to stick with the OEM setup, but that is only my honest opinion, I know it is costly.

"18 x 8" is the wheel size in diameter x width...not offset . Offset is the distance from the hub mounting surface to wheel centerline and is critical in getting right to prevent interference with either the fender lip on the outside or wheel well/suspension/brake bits on the inside.

P.S. there's a handy offset fitment calculator at the following link:

I would also be interested in any info you have on lightweight 18" wheels Brad...TIA!

Thanks for the clarification, I appreciate it. The offset for mine is only 35mm which doesn't help you guys.

Moebiusone, tirerack has a very similar wheel to the OZ in the SSR Type F that fits your car.

Some options:

BBS RX - 18x8, et32, 24lbs - $370/each

Enkei Racing RPM2 - 18x8, et35, 19.4lbs - $275/each (silver or hyper black)

Enkei Racing RP03 - 18x8, et35, 20.2lbs - $350/each

Enkei Racing RPF1 - 18x8, et35, 17.8lbs - $325/each

Enkei Racing NT03+M (the McLaren F1 wheel) - 18x8, et35, 19.4lbs - $335/each

OZ Alleggerita HLT - 18x8 - $375/each

OZ Superturismo GT - 18x8, et35 or et50, 24lbs - $334/each (black or silver)

OZ Ultraleggera - 18x8, et35 or et45, 18.6-19lbs - $348/each (black or silver)

My preference and recommendation would be enkei. Best value, strong, could be winter wheels now and track wheels in the summer!

I have the RPF1 on my MRoadster, and we use the NT03+M on all of our race cars.

We obviously sell these. We are direct with BBS and Enkei.

thanks

Brad, I already have a set of 18 x 8 et35 Ultraleggera's that I used with my previous SLK55. So you say these will also work with the C63?! Seems like a big disparity in offset from stock C63 specs, especially the rear? Unfortunately I don't yet have the new C63 to test fit them on...but if you say they will work, I'll have to take them off the for sale list *L*.

Well, lets look at this in more depth.

Lets look at the front:
  • Assuming the front is 18x8 with et45 (taking this from the second post).
  • The stock wheels can easily take a 10mm spacer, giving an essential offset of et35
  • Thus, an et35 wheel should give you the proper look without needing to add a spacer to the stock wheels

Lets look at the rear:
  • Assuming the front is 18x9 with et54 (taking this from the second post).
  • 1" is approx 25mm, and you are using a 1" narrower wheel, thus you are taking 12.5mm off each side of the wheel.
  • Thus a 18x9 et54 and an 18x8 et66 will have the same outer profile.
  • To give you the correct look, I would use a 30mm spacer kit
  • The 30mm H&R spacer kit is very safe to use (all H&R spacers are TUV approved and hub-centric). The 30mm kit bolts to the hub, then the wheel bolts to the spacer. Thus you are not using 30mm longer bolts.

So net/net, I would go this route with my car, especially if I already had the OZ's. If I was buying new, the Enkei RP01 is light and affordable, and would be my choice.
