Do C63s really get detuned .. ?
Everyone keep going about the fact that the 6.2 L engine on the C 63 being detuned to put out less power than the E and the rest of the higher classes. How true is that ? coz a friend of mine knows some german important someone at the dealership in my region, and he says that this is not true it's all for marketting reasons, and he's saying that for an owner of a CLS AMG, if you get my point.
On the other hand, if it was true, and it DOES put out less power, what can you do in terms of light tuning to make the engine put out it's actual potential ? coz it's obviously softwaring stuff.

2009 SL63 AMG
All modern cars are essentially "detuned" from the factory. The C63 specifically has a more conservative tune over its big brother counterparts, along with a more restrictive exhaust setup. In the past, however, with the 55K models, the differences in power outputs were purely marketing tactics.

'09 C63
I was told at the dealership that they all have the same engine as the CLK BS however, it was de-tuned and if I wanted to I could find someone who's really good and tune it to exactly the same as the CLK BS engine...

For the rest, regarding 63s, there's Stage 1.5, 2, 3, and 4.
