Which gas station do you go to?

Just wondering which one of the following gas stations you like to go to and why?

1) Esso
2) Shell
3) Chevron
4) Petro Canada
5) Husky
6) 7-Eleven
7) Exxon
8) one of the many others that I have missed

Personally I go to Chevron because Esso doesn't have 92 rating. I am curious about Shell's fuel quality because I think a lot of the F1 cars use them... dont' know if that'll make a difference...

Chevron 94 octane self serve only though. I used to just drop by the chevron near my place but ever since I had 87 popped in the tank of my wrx I only rarely go to fullserve chevrons if I really have to, and usually insist on filling it myself.

Shell- back in 01 there was a big scandal involving shell and mixing their fuel with water detonating engines. Of course that was 7 years ago but I tend to avoid shell.

Esso- back in the day the day some hippy study said their fuel was the most impure. For performance reasons not environmental I tend to not go to esso either :p.

ethanol of sunoco is not gd for your engine. switch back the shell guys. 93 ron is european standard. so 91 shell will be fine for c63 in canada. try one tank of full shell you will know the difference from sunoco. But ethanol does clean your engine so you can put 94 like once a month or 2
In most countries (including all of Europe and Australia) the "headline" octane rating, shown on the pump, is the RON, but in the United States, Canada and some other countries the headline number is the average of the RON and the MON, sometimes called the Anti-Knock Index (AKI), Road Octane Number (RdON), Pump Octane Number (PON), or (R+M)/2. Because of the 8 to 10 point difference noted above, the octane shown in the United States is 4 to 5 points lower than the same fuel elsewhere: 87 octane fuel, the "regular" gasoline in the US and Canada, is 91-92 in Europe. However most European pumps deliver 95 (RON) as "regular", equivalent to 90-91 US (R+M)/2, and some even deliver 98 (RON) or 100 (RON).

Does anyone know of any gas station selling 94 octane here in NYC area ???

Sunoco use to have 94 but from what I've heard is that the EPA came in and knocked it down to 93 Octane because of environmental issues : > ((((((((

hmm... seems like most of you are getting 94..but my dealer said 94 doesn't make any difference compared to 92... also I was talking to this chemical engineer and he said that doesn't really matter what you choose...the oil is still the same so as long as you get the same rating, it shouldn't matter which company (given that they're not cheating on you by adding other weird things that is hazardous to your engine)

We did a bunch of tests with different fuels at the shop I used to work with (all with the same STi). Chevron 94 was the best fuel we could get (in Canada). For premium fuels Petro/Husky etc Ethanol blends were the worst.

I still do find 100 octane racing fuel at Union 76 stations locally...

I typically use 91 Craptane in no particular order of preference:

Chevron
Mobil
Union 76
Valero
Shell

My first choice is Chevron 94 Octane, but I also frequently use Shell 91 Octane. If in a bind, Esso 91 is acceptable.

I really do think there's a difference.
