WINTER TIRES ... ABOUT TO ORDER THESE - IS THIS CORRECT?
235/40R18 XL Bridgestone Blizzak LM-25 Blackwall

... are these the 100% correct tires for the car? i.e. measurements etc ...

The size is absolutely, 100% correct.

I would also recommend 18 X 8, ET45 wheels!

Doesn't the owners manual recommend 225/40 R18 (load range XL)?

i got staggered tires for this 235/40 r18 front and 255/25 r18 rear. they work very gd

Me too. Although the dealer told me 235's all around would be the setup to go with, but this is not my daily driver so this will do.

If you buy staggered for winters, you might as well buy the wider tire for both as you are just going to be recrunching snow when the rears roll over the uncompacted portion of the track. Save a few bucks and go same size. This way you can rotate them as well.
