Agree 1000%... I gave up going there as there was never any thing new.... quite lame as a matter of fact and to top it off the server that the site is on reacts very slowly.....

I poke my head in there once in a while, it is a pretty boring forum with minimal traffic, however keep an eye on it becuase once or twice a month they have chat sessions with AMG officials, engineers and designers. This is a great opportunity to ask questions and get real answers, I have participated in a couple of them and they are fun and informative. When the CLK Black Series came out there was a lot of mis-information put out there by magazines and e-zines, for instance a few magazines claimed that the body panels were carbon fiber...I asked the question on AMG Private Lounge Chat session and got the correct answer right then and there, they are plastic not CF.

I urge you all to at least check it out of you hav enot already

Apparently you have to email Daimler Benz and they'll set you up with a login name and password.

You have to provide them with First and Last name, VIN number, model year and model name, etc.

We are very sorry to tell you that you cannot register for the current version of the AMG Private Lounge. At the moment access is limited to US customers only, due to the reason that all data, technical information and vehicle specifications are provided for the US market. We came to this decision to avoid any confusion concerning our vehicles since they do have different specifications for the USA due to differing federal regulations.
However, we can assure you, that we are planning to expand the offer to other countries as well. You will be one of the first to be informed as soon as the offer gets available in your region. We hope to welcome you as a member to the AMG Private Lounge Family then.

I go there. If you need an answer you get in 24 h its a pretty good website!
I like it there but yuu need to Know yourinfo before you prtty good stuff there.

When PL first opened I thought it was a great idea and there was good feed back as well as direct acess to the manufacturer! They were intramental in me getting my factory delivery. But they have changed. Everything is a BIG secret since Rob Allen came back.

I believe his title is AMG product manager for USA. I didn't mean to imply that he's responsibe for the lack of information, I think that's a result of Affalterbach desire to keep things close to the vest. We are suppose to have an announcement in Feb '09 of some sort about part or accessories.
Further there's a shake up in Germany as Wolf Zimmerman will soon leave his post as AMG product development head. This opens a lot of questions of what direction AMG will be headed.
