For those of you who do your own oil changes, where do you buy the filter at? My nearest MB dealer is a 80 mile round trip away so I think I'll be doing oil changes myself to spare the trip and save a few pennies along the way. Also, some what related question: What's better, vacuum or drain?

at the dealership service they use vacuum only so you can do so too through the dipstick.
if you really **** about it, rule of thumb would be twice vaccum, third time drain, and back to vaccum, etc.
you can also try a magnet oil drain bolt if you really want to be super clean
