MBUSA production tracking
Other than through the dealer, can a soon to be owner track the progress of their car throughout production on some sort of MB website with a VIN#?
Also, where on the C63 is the build date? Is it on the Driver Side door?

select "Auto Tracking" and enter your VIN.
Once your vehicle leaves the factory you will be able to see where it is.
The actual boat ride takes between 6 to 10 days for East coast (Halifax 1st then usually Baltimore) The car can sit at the docks in Bremerhaven for up to 3 weeks before loading and starting the trip over. Loading and unloading is done like lightning. They don't like these big ships in port too long
When my C55 came in 2004 and C63 9n 2008 it landed in Halifax. I saw it was scanned off the boat. Called the dealer and they expedited delivery and it was in Toronto 48hrs later in in my hands the next afternoon.

Hope this helps

Should have delivery somewhere between 20 - 40 days after production date. The delta is the amount of dock time in Bremerhaven and landing port

My car did not track on that W&W site as stated above.
Build date was sometime between 11/24 and 12/1 and arrived in los angeles at the dealer on 1/12 so probably the port 1/8.

Once you get either an order/production # or your VIN (you should be supplied VIN when production is confirmed) go to this site:
http://schedule.2wglobal.com/AppTracking/cargoTrack.do
select "Auto Tracking" and enter your VIN.

it might not be loaded on the vessel yet - it has nothing to do with MB actually - its the shipping company. So if your car is waiting at the port it might not be logged in yet.
OR MB uses multiple shipping companies -

Go to: http://schedule.2wglobal.com/AppTracking/cargoTrack.do > Customer Centre > Track and Trace > then enter VIN in the Cargo id. box.
Build date was 3rd week of January, VIN was available late last week I believe.

I think MBUSA use 2 different shipping companies. If your car is not on a Wallenius Wilhemsen ship then the link is not going to work for you. I may be wrong.
