While I can't speak definitively, one person just bought a set of these for his cars in CA. His question asked whether or not these can run with three heads (quad system) as a three head seems to be allowed, but a four head is not. Based on that info - I'd say yes as long as you use three heads.
That having been said, if you have to limit coverage to a single head on one end of the car, the recommendation is to go with the HP LE version which has two laser emitters in each head to begin with.
Sorry I can't be more specific as I'm not familiar with the exact law - but that's what I'm working with! FWIW - in much of Europe these are falling into the disallowed category, but the workaround - not that I am suggesting you do that - is that this particular system is also [primarily?] a parking sensor (you know, the type that indicates how far you are from a wall/bike/kid by beeping as you get closer).
cheers.

This "Jammer" , does it transmit a signal or something? I seem to remember somthing about needing an FCC license inorder to use a transmitter. Not to mention, as far as automotive applications go I seem to rember, a jammer / transmitter is illegal in ALL 50 states.
Is this correct?

2009 C63 AMG Black on Black PP Package CF fully loaded
I jumped the gun and purchased my QUAD from Cliff last week with the included GB price... I got a custom install and I can say its almost non visible front / back on a Black car. I also purchased the newly developed SpeedLab Tester which transmits 12 different laser beams for testing purpose. You never know if a sensor goes out from a rock strike or just a failure of a receiver, I'm pretty sure that laser transmitter is monitored by the on-board CPU but not the receiver.

so if a laser jammer helps you from getting clocked by a laser, and a radar detector helps you detect radar like K and KA band, what will protect you from instant on radar?

If you are the only car on the road there's not much protection from instant on radar. Normally the people ahead of you are getting clocked with it and you'll pick up that signal with a good detector.

I got an instant on ticket early December - only car on the road, nothing I could do about it. About the only thing that will protect you in this case is to have an IR camera like caddy and BMW - that way you can see hot squad car engines sticking out at ya. Til then though - I'll take a distance measuring system for parking aid

So I want to share an answer I just posted back to another section member. He was asking about the difference between regular and the "special" hp le heads and how the test was run. So, the test as listed was run on regular off the shelf heads. But for fun (the testing guys have a skewed sense of 'fun') they mounted the HP LE heads on a Freightliner. Yep - the big-a$$ hauler, though in this case it's a custom conversion motor home (pretty cool in its own right). The HP LE hid that big beast, white paint chrome and all, from all the guns. The videos are worth a look...

Is the LI alarm tripped by the laser cruise control that is popular on a lot of Infiniti's and Lexus's? My Valentine V!'s laser alarm goes off for that way more than an actual laser gun from the 5.0's.
