engine oil temp

I tried the search option but didnt find anything, what should a c63 engine temp be at during normal conditions and spirited driving?

during normal conditions my car sits at roughly 107c (not fahrinheit)
during spirited conditions ive seen it go as high as 117c

thanks
h

That is very high for coolant, normal for oil.

Fair enough. I'll look at the oil temp on my car tomorrow when I'm running some errands and post here.

For my C63, normal driving---oil temp. stays around 103 to 110(celsius).
When I push it a little bit, it stays above 120C or 248F.

I guess this is normal for C63, but not so when you compare it with other engine---it's a bit hotter.

P.S. My friend had seen 150 celsius one time when he pushed his C63 really hard.

That is normal for the oil temp on my car as well. 103-107 is normal with cool driving, no heavy traffic. Though when I push it, it goes up to around 117c as well but then quickly cools down to around 110. Iguess the secondary oil cooling unit in the right side of the front bumper is activated then.

The problem with this 'new' info on the water and oil temperatures, unless you had other cars showing you the oil temp, is that you were used to the normal 80 degrees Celcius water temp that is shown on all other Mercedes-Benzes. Therefore, it feels weird to see the oil temp that high. I had gotten used to associating the water temp with oil and engine temps.

What's even more interesting is when you drive the car first thing in the day. The water temp reaches it's operating temp much faster than the oil. I used to drive my previous cars much more gently until after the water temp reached approx 80c but with this new discovery, I will now wait longer just as I am doing with the C63.

Damn, I guess I am not pushing my car at all. The highest I have seen is 105 C. The regular temp I see during normal driving is 99 - 100 C.

Thanks for the info guys.
