Hey guys, please help with my mods gone wrong.....
Hey guys, I've got a 2009 C63. I know it has 451hp but i've always wanted to get more performance. I was recommended to port and polish the intake and exhaust. We found out they used abrasive material to do it like gritty sand. So I got with my friend that tunes Hondas and we decided to try it ourselves. We got a bag of sandblasting sand and hooked up into the intake and started the car. We had to hold the gas so it would run. He wanted to let the engine suck in the sand through the intake so it would port it out and then push it out the ehxaust so it would port the exhaust manifold.
I was worried that it might cause problems but he figured it'd be OK as long as we didn't go over 5000rpm. After running the car and letting it suck in sand we got about half way through a 25 lb bag. The check engine light was on and the engine was bucking and kicking and sounding really weird. We stopped and hooked the car back up normal and took off the sand supply. We tried to start it again and it was really hard. Once started it couldn't idle and kept making weird noises. We took it out and drove it and it started to make scraping and knocking noises.
Help! Can anyone tell me what to do! My buddy only does Hondas so he doesn't know much about AMGs.

Hey, I am the buddy with the Honda, a fit to be precise. I don't know why it fukted up his engine, I read it on the internet that will make the engine rev faster and flow better. Ken was so enthusiastic about it so we decide to try it out.

Oh damn, I think he may be serious afterall.
WTF, Yooker?? Why the hell did you do this? Have you lost your marbles? You know that sand trick only works on Hondas and sometimes on BMWs, right???

*update*
I just came back from trying to flush out the sand by spraying water into the intake, i have my filters off so it would get the sand off, hopefully it helps
*update again*
the car just shut off and won't turn on now

Wait, did you use distilled water or tap water?? I'm pretty sure the Honda guys used to use only distilled water for this.

yooker posted in the age thread that his parents bought the car and he shares it with family.... unfortunately I don't think he's old enough to have developed that sort of "sense of humor." However he is likely young and gullible.
yooker I don't think anyone has an answer for you, because we have never forced our engines to breathe approx 12.5 lbs of sand..... ?!?!? That's why we think you're insane.
Where were you expecting the sand to go, as it travelled through your intake and "out the exhaust"?????
Craziest thing I've ever read on a car board.

I don't think you're supposed to add any dishwasher solution, you nutcase. I'm not sure where you're getting your advice from, but he/she clearly knows nothing about how to remove sand from an engine.
