A little C63 Vs M5 action...
This applies to all high HP cars especially you C63 owners...
As you may know you don't have much traction threw 1st gear or off the line with your stock tires. My customer wanted to go faster like all of us so I immediately put a set of Toyo R888's on his C63. The R888's are more of a road race/DR tire. At full heat, the C63 easily gained almost 1 second 0-100 with better tires. Most performance enthusiast like to veer away from the basics but when it really come's down to it, its all about power/weight ratio and tire compounds. If you want to have a faster 0-60 etc, I strongly recommend looking at some different tires than the stock Michelin, Continentals or Pirelli's.
The C63 OWNS the M5 in this race....
If you didn't see it at the bottom: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y80IM0JAlS0
My customers also wanted to add some suede on the pillars and roof.
6 months on the tires and ALOT of burn outs....Still over 50% tread left...
Suede
I also had a Passport 9500ci installed for him!
Enjoy! Have a good night MBworld!!!

Is he running those tires for daily driving as well or just the track? From the pictures you have posted, it looks like hes running different tires front and back.
To clear things up, 0-60, 0-100 and the 1/4 mile times are all traction determined while trap speed is the true measure of a car's acceleration.

He has the Pirelli's up front... We just wanted to change the rears....It's primarily his DD.

Thanks! Also what's the width of the tire, doesn't look 255.
I see that this car is located in Texas where rain is scarce so those rear tires would be no problem. However the place I reside in literally rains 8 out of 10 days so I would have to look for a tire which would offer wet grip as well. The tires I'll probably be replacing the Pirelli's with would be Kumho Ecsta XS because they offer good dry and wet traction.

Very nice! Toyo R888 are pretty bad ***.
Has anyone tried the new Nitto-NT05? I saw the C63 that set the 1/4 mile record was running a 275/35/18 in these and pulled a 1.7 60ft. From the reviews I have read they are one of these best street/track tires to date for the money. A couple of the reviews said they weren't bad in the rain either, for those that daily drive their car. They come in a good array of sizes as well. I am probally gonna place an order this week but I was hoping to get some feedback from people with cars similar to mine.
Thanks

Nice SRT, I have a 08 SRT8 Jeep.....SRT's are nice combo vehicles: brembo's, AMG transmission, big sway bars etc. The SRT engineers did a good job on the whole line...

Nitto's are great tires! I used to run the 555RI/II on my last track car and they amazed me! The R888 is a great choice if you in a hot dry climate like us. Those tires demand heat and do NOT like rain! I say give the nitto's a try! Is the NT05 the new Nitto?

Typical use for our MD dyno's are tuning and HP/TQ readings.
Why woulnd't you want to race on them.... I personally think it's really high tech and a cop can't give you a street racing ticket on it, right? If you ever get the chance to Dyno and they have a 1/4 simulate mode, do it! You will be in love...
Have a good day!
