Lowering your C63. Anyone done it? Best way?

The more I look at my car, the more I want to lower it. Say 1-1/2 to 2".

What is the best way/easiest way/cheapest way?

Discuss.

cut the springs!

i would look into a coilover kit.
H&R is good and reasonably priced.

Couple AMG's
go to a motorsport place where they fix up cars
and ask them to lower it from the computer
or get a lowering module

Can't do that with the C63. It cannot be lowered with the computer since it doesn't have the electronic suspension other models have.

I would get either H&R or KW coilovers. They are adjustable so you can dial in the exact ride height you're looking for. I had springs on my car, but I wasn't happy with the ride height. Nothing I could do about it unfortunately.

Not the cheapest solution, but currently the best imo are the KW V3 coilovers. Expect to pay $2500 for the C63 version. Install and alignment cost me $700, which I heard is high, but out of 4 shops I checked with, that was the lowest price I was quoted. I had the height set to where there is no gap between the tire and fender. I plan to do a full review along with pictures as I have many positive things to say about this setup. I meant to do it this week, but I'm having a few more minor things done to my car so it will have to wait until the end of next week

So $2,500 for coilovers and $700 to align ($3,200 to lower my car)?

Wow, that's more than some ECU tunes + airbox...

Overbudget: 1.5" + drop is pretty agressive.

The H&R coilovers are around $1,300.00. so you're down to $2K. Additionally, that $700 install cost is very high. I had a set of KW's installed on my BMW 335i, and I paid $300. I guess my point is that $3,200 is at or near the top of the price list for coilovers and install costs.

i'm running on pss10 i brought it for 2100usd from james. But most member says that the KWV3 are better but i'm happy with mine. the cheapest ways is just got get a set of h&r springs but it will mess up ur amg coils. I dun think u wanna play with the 70k car

Yes I agree $3,200 is high just to lower and align the C63, and as others have said that price is probably on the high end. I don't know where you can get the KW V3s for much cheaper, but you probably can save some $$ on the install. Although I did take my car to a high end shop that works on Porsche cup cars, and they did an excellent job. Perhaps if you bought the coilovers from a shop that will also perform the install you could save some money that way.

Originally all I wanted to do was lower my car as well, but let me just say this is probably the best money I've spent on the C63 so far. If this car came equipped with these from the factory and all the head to head comparisons were done with this setup, I am certain the C63 would come out on top as the clear winner nearly everytime. There is that much of a difference.

Do the KWs allow you to dial in more neg camber up front? I think either Brabus or CArlsson offers that ability.

Yep but when you say to a concrete block, "Ernie could you lean a little more to the left" it doesn't move.

Best way to lower your C63 is, it is better to set up 3200 as the price list for coilovers and install cost.
