My car is at 4100miles, and unfortunately like everyone else, I'm in the market for new tires.

here are my options:
1. keep front and buy new set of rear PZero.
2. Michelin PS2 all around.

But my question to you guys who run on PS2: how is PS2 tread wear compared to PZero? how long does PS2 last?

Because if I get the same mileage from a PS2 as PZero, I think I will go for Nitto NT05.

thanks in advance for any inputs or suggestions!

EDIT: my friend's E92 M3 has 12k miles with PS2 tires, tread still looks new!

I only have about 1,000 miles on my PS2's and so far so good. Tread hasn't really depleted too much so I'll keep my fingers crossed.

But no matter what tires you buy the rears will wear fast!!!!! the c63 is just alot of power and very light in the rear, traction is aways a issue so you might want to look in to some japan rubber its much harder/better tread wear. You will have more noise but if you look at the cost of a set of p zero well over 1500 compared to well under 800 for another brand it might be worth the noise... even if they last the same your 700 ahead right

if I can squeeze 8000miles out from PS2, then i will most likely get PS2.

the thing is there are many variables to tire wear issue of our cars. car itself, massive torque, and then stock Pzero tires. Im not sure if I replace them with PS2, tread wear will improve or not. I dont expect a significant improvement, but 8k miles is fine. I dont want to spend 700 on Pzero rear tires(include mount/balance) every 4k miles.

Just ordered a pair of Nitto NT05's, 275/35/18. Will be installing next week. PZero's made it almost 6000 mi. Out the door price of $478. Will let you all know of the performance soon!

so you are running stock pzero 235/40/18 front and nt05 275/35/18 rear?

I have PS2s in my car and although they are an awesome performance tire, their tread wear varies especially on high power cars. I got some that lasted 3,000 miles and others that lasted 9,000 miles. Oh and the fronts will actually last you much longer....

I switched out the rears with the Toyo T1R's and have had a good experience with them in the past on my C55. On my C55 I got around 15-18k life out of them.
The PS2's are a great tire, I ran last year's One Lap of America with a 01' M3 AA Supercharged (500HP) car I purchased them heat cycled from Tire Rack. We did 8000 miles in all including daily track events and when we got the car back to Active in Miami they still had ton's of tread left. Needless to say I came away really impressed and with a class win, 8th overall, and top BMW in the event.
I went with the Toyos on the C63 figuring they would be shot in 6k miles anyway. So far they seem to have as much grip as the Pirelli's but the sidewall is a bit softer so there is a bit more deflection. Depending on your driving style you may or may not even notice a difference. Of course my Pirellis were effectively slicks for so long acually having tread on the tire could be what I am feeling.

Just got my rears replaced. Have the stock Pirelli P Zero's, but when I drove home I realized that they replaced the rears with Pirelli P Zero Rosso's. Should I return them? Will the different tread pattern affect the performance? And how do they compare to each other performance & tread life wise?

Had the NT05's put on today. Wow, what a sticky tire! The 275/35/18's fit perfectly. The ride is quiet as well. A little chilly in Denver today, so I'm not pushing it yet. Initial impressions are great. I think I'll be lucky to get 4000k out of them, considering how grippy they are. Only 5600k out of the OEM Pirelli's.

You paid too much not have what you want. It will bug you forever, or at least for 4000 miles, if you go don't go back. They should have known better.

It all depends on how you drive. A great tire will not last long ever.. The faster the tire wear the softer the tire compound= great traction.. I have used many many tire and I will stick with the continental contact 3's.. I just bought a full set of PS2's had them on for only 1day and took them off, for my style of driving I did not feel good driving them went back to the contact 3's but the perelli's are my next choice

Oe replacements
Had my oe rears cut by road debris at 3500. Have a sidewall bulge in a front oe. Changing overt the hankooks like I put on my renntech sl55 as I'm thru to the cords after 6k miles on the rear pzero rosso's.
Initial thoughts, softer, quieter ride. More flexible sidewall feel. No traction opinion yet, 60 miles in ( had a set of nexens once that u could feel the slickness right away, like hard compound dunlops)
Very happy with them after 3k miles on the set on the sl tho.

hello???

Anybody heard about the michelin supersport

It replaces the PS2. Actually it's closer to the sport cup.

according to michelinabout 10% better performance in every category plus a mileage warranty 30000 miles. 15 000 miles for the rears since you can't rotate them.

a little less costly than PS2 too.

check it out.

That's what's going on my C63 next time I need tires

Ive been through 4 sets of tires within 10,000 miles. PZeros, Falken Azenis RT615, 2 sets of Hankook Evo V12. The Hankooks had the best tread life out of all of them and at a great price.
If your choice is between the PS2's and PZeros I would go with the Michellins. But choosing tires in general I would go for the Hankooks because of the Price/Tread wear/Performance combo.

The Pirellis lasted about 6K. I put PS2 on and they still look new with 2K on them. Mich Sport Cups won't last at all. Ask any GT3RS owner.
