Nasty squeak...front drivers side

I've been getting a nasty squeak in the front end, mostly when I'm turning left but it also happens going straight. It only seems to happen at low speeds. The brakes are also squeaking now. I brought it in twice now for this and they can't find anything...any ideas...I'm going back this week to again to drop it off...this blows...

The squeaking brakes are a common problem but there's an easy fix. The dealership will replace the rear pads with a newer type which uses a different compound which completely eliminates the squeaking. A number of us in Vancouver have had it done, all under warranty.

Don't take no for an answer.

I heard a similar noise but not with the brakes. I took it in and was told it was the Diff and that it was a normal sound. I found it odd and still here is occasionally at very low speeds usually when goign between stop lights at low speeds.

The car appears to be fine so I have not worried about it to much.

I'm taking it in tomorrow...The sound is getting worse...first the CEL, then the weatherstripping, then the purge valve, then the sunroof, then the oil consumption test, twice, holy crap...it only has 7k on it...lol...and I need tires, but that's my fault.

Nasty Squeak - try the E.Brake

I've had a terrible squeak at low speeds as well - I think I've found the problem - the Emergency Brake. At low speeds, try pushing the E.Brake pedal then quickly releasing it - usually makes the squeak go away - taking car in next week to see if they can determine the acutal cause. Anyone know if the Emergency Brake engages the rear calipers or is it a separate device?

Thanks!

Damn!!! That is quite a list of problems you have there. Sorry to hear that you have what seems to be a lemon. I purchased my GLK in March and have put 8k miles on it so far. The only problem I have so far is a squeaky door handle and that bugs the hell out of me, so I can imagine how you are feeling.

Either that or the brake dust disc that is behind the rear rotor.....my back left tire area squeaks after being parked and slowly driving out of my garage or parking lots when I'm on the brake or off.

There is a brake cleaner that reduces the brake noise, is available in any auto parts.

I posted my problem before, but got no answer, the rear driver side squeak when i drive at low speed, i'm guessing it might be the rear brake shield rubbing against the rotors, but i'm not sure. Too lazy to bring it to the dealership :o

I've now been in 5 times for this problem...The last time they replaced the driver side strut (which I had to wait a week for) and after one day of being home it was doing it again. I called MBUSA and told them we need to do something about this ASAP...I'm not paying this kind of money to drive a loaner car...It has to go back now so we shall see what happens...I'll give them one more crack at it.

My back left tire was squeaking like crazy today...coming out of a parking lot. Never on the brakes and it was still going nuts. I think it's time I take mine in too, I just dont trust them, so I was hoping one of you found a fix that maybe I could try.

Heard a strange noise last night as I pulled forward out of a parking space while turning left. It was a single loud squeak from the left front tire area similar to turning the tires while stationary on a slick surface. My wife says that she has heard the same sound several times. ??

yeah...drive around a parking lot slowly and you'll be able to make the sound happen...I don't know exactly where it's coming from and neither do they...I think the caliper is not working properly...I'm still trying to figure it out...I called MBUSA and they don't seem to be jumping to help so I'm going back to the dealer tomorrow to see what's up.

Heard it again today in the same parking lot which has a very fresh coat of asphalt down. I have not heard it anywhere else and it is a noise unlike anything I have heard before.

My C350 did this in a parking lot at ~5mph and I think I have the solution.... What I did was set the parking brake at about 80% and drove in reverse probably 4-5ft and pulled the brake release. Squeak is now gone. Im baffled

This happens to my car as well. Started happening about 1 month ago. It happens very randomly.

It's one very loud, high-pitched squeek, whince, or pinch type of sound, very high pitch, and it happens when I'm pulling out of a parking space and beginning a light turn.

I can't reproduce it, but it's happened at least 8 times.
