Clean and black

Well, people from a South of US probably will not appreciate those pictures since they don't have a winter over there, but folks from a North and all fellow Canadians will understand this ecstatic feeling of having your car clay bared, polished and waxed after a long fking winter

Does it have metalic black door handles? (I have a regular black C63, but the door handles are obsidium. So do a few others. Weird.)

How are you guys doing on your black cars in respects to rock chips and little scuff's from normal driving? I've taken the porter cable to my car (black C63) several times and I keep noticing more and more little "flaws" like tiny rock chips, etc.

I used Pinnacle Souverän and OMG, the paint is so "deep" that its just sick. The next day I spent over $400.00 on stuff from Pinnacle. Then, I hit it with a second coat a month later and

No, I just got this car, like 4 weeks ago. Previous owner drove it in the winter on the MIchelin winter tires. Paint had a lot of swirl marks and scratches

I've got a few rock chips on the hood right above where the headlights are, on both sides. I've also got a few on my windshield. It's a pain in the butt, but you're going to get them sooner or later.

Yep, that's true.... But at least you can reduce them by putting a clear bra. That's what I did right away.

Those pics are hot, perfect lighting for black shots...a far cry from your original pics of when you were about to get the car a few weeks ago. Having fun yet?!

They make this thing called a clear bra. It works wonders. You should check that out.

Yep I have it on my beast - the whole bumper, 1/3 hood and fenders

Well, it's not the camera, it's a photographer

There is nothing special about those quick snaps, but thank anyways.

I am using Nikon D700 with 14-24 2.8 lens on it on those shots

Looks great, solid work.

What do you use for polish/wax?

I've used Menzerna Super Finish Nano Polish PO106FA with white pad and NTX 2.0 wax. I will probably use 3M swirl remover or even light compound on orange pad to completely get rid of swirls and scratches.

I'm about to try Vanilla Moose Hand Glaze and then Carnauba Moose Wax. Just got them in the mail. This will be the first change in many years from using Zaino.

Will do.
A detailer showed me how a black car looks with the above and my car isn't measuring up. Mainly a function of a polymer versus carnauba on a black vehicle. Always willing to try something new.

Taking inspiration from this thread, I also went and waxed my black car today. Didn't have any carnauba wax on hand, so tried the Meguiar's Tech Wax. Results aren't as good, but satisfactory nonetheless. There's something about a jet black C63...it's amazing.

Oh, I know...but I just don't want to use any add-ons like that. The car looks best without all that other adornment. I'm sure others might not agree, but that's just me.

Thanks for the suggestion though.
