Brake fluid change
Has anyone done a brake fluid change on their C63? I'm thinking of switching over to Motul RBF600 before my upcoming track weekend and wanted to make sure there wasn't anything unusual about bleeding the brakes on the car.
TIA

Great question. Interested in the answer as well. I have the rotors all the way around and steel brake lines with new pads on the way. I have not yet addressed the question of brake fluid. I used RBF600 in my Evo years back and was thinking to do the same for the C63, but hadn't researched it yet so let me know what you find out.

You will need a pressure bleeder in order to do any brake flush on a Mercedes.
I can't remember if the C63 has the SBS brake system or not, but if it does, here is what you'll need to do if you do not have a Star tool.
get car on lift or jack stands, or I guess you can do one corner at a time....
Unplug the SBS most important part!
The start the bleed
Start with the rear opposite side of the brake reservoir, install pressure bleeder to about 2 bars, and open valve. do that all the way around and your good to go.

I could be completely wrong on this, but I do think that the C63 has "normal" hydraulic brakes.
My 2 cents.

No SBC... c- class never had it. Dont need sds to bleed system. By design the valves in a abs unit are open when unactivated so fluid can pass. A presuren bleeder capable of 2.5 bar is recomended but not totally needed. A vaccum bleeder or fluid injetion bleeder can be used. This is deffinetly a diy if anyone needs anymore info let me know.
Good luck

fyi... if you are not 100% familar with SBC i would leave it alone there are so many variables
involed valves, accumulators, high pressure. You cant bleed the system UNPLUGED the sbc pump is used during the bleeding process . At the calipers were talking about over 100bar (1500psi) at the pump even higher . Fingers, eyes ,hands can be lost.
BE CAREFULL
im all for diy projects but you might what to skip this one

Thanks for all the replies. I have a Motive pressure bleeder and after doing some more checking got the same info regarding the ABS valve being open when the car is off so normal brake bleeding procedures should work fine. I'll be doing the fluid change out over the weekend.

So this past Sunday another board member (DFW01E55) and I installed SS brake lines and flushed our brake fluid. (This was on my C63 and his CLK63 Black) We went with ATE Super Blue as I always liked the ability to swap between that and ATE Typ 200. Same fluid, but different color makes telling when the old fluid is completely out easy. Bottom line is our brake pedals are much firmer than before.

To replace your brake lines, all you have to do is thoroughly clean both ends of the stock line, unscrew/remove, screw in new line, and bleed if you are not replacing fluid), right?

Do you know if this also applies to the W203? I just purchased a Mityvac 7300 (needs an air compressor) to suck out oil since my Topsider is unreliable. The 7300 includes a brake bleeding (vacum) attachment.

Best fluid to use is what I use in my Porsche CUP car, same a what Porsche Motorsports puts in in Weissach. Castrol SRF. 80 bucks a quart but worth it. F the power bleeder get your friend to press and hold the pedal as you work around the car in a Z pattern starting from the caliper furthest away from the master
