What I like!
The guy who removed the front tint on my Evo showed me how.... it looked super easy.

Your window tint film is porous, so you just need to get the tint film to re-absorb water to the other side and you can peel it right off.

Get a large plastic garbage bag.

Spray your window with a soap-and-water solution.

Place the garbage bag over the window/tint. Smooth it out over the tint, sealing in the soapy solution. This will hold the solution to the window tint, so the tint will absorb it to the other side.

Let it sit for 30 minutes. Remove the garbage bag and you should be able to peel the tint right off.

Try it on one window and let us know if it worked.

I never understood why people call tinted windows "tints." That's like saying deers, isn't it?

Anyway, to remove your "window tint," all you need is a steamer, like what you would use to steam wrinkles out of clothing. 9 times out of 10, the"window tint" will peel right off.

Good luck.

for the windows without the defroster its easy -

peel it off from an edge, starting with a razor to get an edge...

they spray it with rubbing alcohol and this will help you remove the glue with a razor

I would just take the front tint off first and see if you still keep getting pulled over before removing the rest. Good luck!

Yes
Seriously, aircraft paint remover works pretty well for this.

From another forum:

I just got a can of Aircraft Paint Stripper from PepBoys for $10.00. I sprayed a nice thick blob on a rag and dabbed it onto about a 1 foot x 1 foot spot on my back glass. Gave it 20 minutes and came out, took my razor and barely touched it and it fell off like snow flakes in the middle of a beauitful winter day with a snowman smiling endlessly as kids iceskate on the frozen pond. WELL, you get the picture.

Its unbelievable, beats anything hands down. Mine has been on for 11 years so its worst than most. Also, pieces came off in big sheets too.

ya well not much u can do about that....

if u really want to have some tint just go with 35% or 20% if ur feeling risky

my mom had 20% on her sl65 and she never got stopped and even when i drove it i didnt get stopped so 20-35 is good if u ask me but its up to u

Yeah, but can you blame them? It's potentially a big security issue; how would they know if the dude behind that dark tint doesnt have a gun pointed at his head right there and then?

I've got 20~% front tints, and if i know i'm going to pass cops i just roll down front windows. Far safer than zipping by with the dark tint up

It's kind of unfair to generalize cops as one kind of group. The ones that work hard and actually protect the communities are the ones you never see, they're the ones that get killed in action. But yes, i agree with you completely that there are some powerhungry popo out there. Maybe it's little man syndrome? lol
