Rearview camera installation
I wonder if anyone did install rearview camera on their C63, I am thinking about doing this mod and wondering if C63 is easier to do (maybe it's pre-wired? ) or just follow the general W204 DIY?

Not sure about the C63...I did one on my 2005 C55. I had it wired to a toggle switch located underneath the bottom of the dash, to the right of the sterring column. Right next to another toggle to the Laser Diffuser. When the toggle was switched...the rearview camera would come on screen on the Touch Screen Kenwood I had custom mounted in the dash. The unti containing the hazard lights and a few other switches was re-located to the glove box. I loved the fact that when "running", I could always see where my "opponent" was located and his status. Hope it works out for you...

License plate rear view cameras are mounted at the top or bottom of the car's rear plates (or frame), using the same screws as the plates. They are built into a small black plastic strip (like a watch on a watch band) and are small and unobtrusive.

I did a kenwood camera install on my 09 C350. The quality is tremendously better than the junk the factory gave us. To the OP, Don't be lazy and install it on the factory location on the right! Put it in the center location. It may be more work, but the end result is sooo much better.

The install video is good for learning how to take the head unit apart, but it does not walk you through how to route the cables from the back to the front, nor does it properly explain how and where to splice the wires if you are a novice. The W204 forums has a DIY on how to install that goes into great details. If there is anything lacking, scroll through the threads on that DIY and it should clarify any questions you might have. You don't need to buy the kit from Mid city engineering. Just buy the Fakra cable from them and buy a Kenwood CMOS camera. It should cost you no more than 200 dollars installed if you do it yourself.
