Water Temp Fluctuating

Location: vancouver, bc
Outside temp: 22 C - 32 C

Symptoms: I was driving the car on the weekend and it's pretty hot outside. I realized the water temp goes as high as 95-98 (just a bit under 100 C mark)
But once i open it up on the highway, the temp goes back own to 85 or below (just a bit over 80C).

I wonder if this is a problem? I do'nt wanna make a special trip to my dealer yet.

No this is normal. Under slower driving the car will run a little warmer. Once you "open" it up some oon the highway, more air flows over the radiator of the car thus lowering the engine water temp. Even when I drive in Death Valley here, it is much hotter and I experiance the same thing. Rememebr lower speed, higher temps higher speed lower temps, so go fast and keep cool

Not trying to jack this thread...but how come I noticed the oil temp keeps flashing during the first 10 minutes of driving? Does this mean the oil is still cold?

Yes that means the oil temp is not up to aggresive driving. No high RPM's till it stops flashing at about 177F. After the flashing is stop punchit and enjoy

MNL_ICE love your car. I could only wish someday mine can grow up to be 1/2 like yours. There is so many cool cars here and great mods so many choices to make. But guess have to settle for what I got for now. Someday will post pic of mine, after all it just turned 1 year old. Just wanted to say very cool car and great mods.

Yes, 040 Black is solid black with a very light gloss coating while "Obsidian Black" and "Sienna Black" have nano metallic flakes in the paint
