I was never much of a fan of the TeleAid, however, I just found out that you can send your google map searchs directly to TeleAid equiped COMAND system. Has anyone tried this and how well did it work for you? Here is the background info on "Mercedes-Benz Search & Send".

I have 2009 GL which I use this feature quite often. I send multiple addresses via google from the computer and when I download it, I just save them instead of starting route guidance. It is very useful if you are on a road trip and you know several destinations that you will be heading to.

Yeah, I hate "typing" with that stupid *** thing for addresses, and I much rather have the points send to the COMAND from a computer or my iPhone. I guess CF is out and Tele Aid is in for my order. Thanks guys.

its a 600 dollar option. then its like 200 a year after that. worth it for the security stuff and not having to wheel and click an address in.
yarukc look in the balloon caption when you find an address and click send then mercedes and then put in the email address you gave the teleaid people. the whole trick is to get them to type in the email address correctly when they setup your account.

I meant, does it require additional equipment or are all Mercedes able to use the service?

It does require additional equipment, but it is easy for your dealer to install if you don't have it originally. I just found some more links that maybe useful.

Nope - just go to www.google.com/maps
Enter the address you are driving to and click Search Maps
when the pop-up shows up on the map, there will be links that say "Get directions, Search nearby, Zoom here, Save to My Maps, Send, Edit"
Click "Send" and a new pop-up appears.
On that new pop-up, the left-hand side gives you options to send to: Email, Phone, Car, GPS
Click "Car", then just make sure make is set to mercedez-benz and enter your Teleaid e-mail address in the appropriate space and click "send". That's it.
When you get in your vehicle, just hit the "i" button to connect to Teleaid and once connected, your nav should pop up that address is downloaded and give you option to start route assistance.
It's a great feature - use it frequently.
Did ya'll also know on the Teleaid website you can set up SMS alerts for your vehicle? I.e. if your car alarm goes off, it will send you a text message to your cell phone. Great feature as well!
