AMG Locking Differential option?

AMG Locking Differential option?
Ok, so I've been hoping I don't regret not getting the Performance Package on my '09 C63 AMG. Most ppl say it's not necessary, and some will say that it's difficult to get a decent launch without the LSD. Anyhow, in all my research on this car over the past month or so, I came across one MB dealer sales guy that mentioned the MB AMG "LSD" can be ordered as a stand-alone option on the C63, but I couldn't get confirmation on this from any other dealer sales guys (since half of them don't know *****). 
So, I went to the MB-AMG Web site and noticed that it does in fact list a "locking differential" as a dealer-installed (I believe) option on the C63 (but I'm not sure if this is for the U.S. or not)...

Just out of curiosity (not that I'm doing anything anytime soon, but...), can anyone confirm this and if so, does anyone know the cost of the diff. + labor?

I guess coming from a high TQ tuned BMW 335i (w/ approx. 440 lb.-ft. TQ) with an open diff., it's not that the LSD is absolutely needed, but I've been told that it helps the launching capabilities. 
I figured the same would be true for a C63 AMG.

Thanks. I go to the 1/4 mi. track about 2-3x/year; I don't think I would consider tracking my car as the C63 will also be my DD and I know when you track your car, things wear out or break much quicker. However, with that said, how does having an ecu flash (like the Kleemann ecu flash you have) affect your car's launching capabilities (with the open differential)? On a drag strip, the straight line gains exist..... but very minimal. The true gains, as said earlier, are realized around a road course. However, straight line gains on normal streets and roads may come into play. For instance, assume you are lined up to race on a regular road.... but one side of the road was more dirty than the other or more un-even or even cracked up more.... then you may end up spinning one tire and not the other which would trigger ESP and kill power. If ESP was completely off, then you would keep burning rubber until you let off. With a 40% locking LSD, this is minimized or eliminated.
Quaife makes very good differentials.... they require a lot less maintenance and are built of solid quality.

i love whiping turns and playing around i have 20k miles on my car i got the Quaife instaled when i had 15k and the last 5k its been nothing but fun fun fun and more fun. and yes traction improved alot.
