kentucky Merc dealers
the deal they shoot me is invoice PLUS 500. so 63,353 plus tax and title.
how is that a good deal? are you all really getting 10-15k off these cars?
i call another dealer in the state and they say they dont have one and probably wont get one unitl October when there 2010 comes in. no price on that one yet but the guy says the dealers only have 12 percent to work with in the car and some give more of it away and some try to keep more but he thought my quote was fair. right......
any suggestions?
If he is charging $500 over invoice, that is more than fair. Figure that $500 has to cover the sales staff, overhead, property taxes, etc. How many cars would they have to sell at a $500 mark up just to cover their nut?
The other thought is to keep your money locally to help with your local economy and businesses, and if it costs a few buck more, so be it. Remember, an out of state purchase will also involve shipping, airfare, time off work, etc., that have costs as well.
thanks for your insight. i appreciate it.
the others,
i appreciate all comments as well. just posting to see what you all thought of that potential deal. you and this board are valuable assets and im happy to be surrounded by such great people.
ill keep ya posted on what i decide to do. thanks again.
see thats my point exactly... so i think im going to save a little more and then hit some of you guys up for your dealer info and see if i cant take a flight down to get one. is that possible ya think?

im not in a BIG hurry to get one but i saw it and said, "what the heck" instead of waiting till next spring/summer just buy it now its the car you want and why wait to save a couple extra hundred on your payment. just get the dang thing. but of course the dealer is either too rich or too dumb to even spot an easy sale...
ill keep you posted. i totally emailed that advertisment that you gave me amdeutsch. thank you my friend. i will let you know what they say to that. lol

good idea on the doorjamb. it was locked of course but IF im ever on that lot again i will check it out. i emailed my sales consultant at the dealer and basically asked him to call me since he didnt call me yesterday and i had to deal with a different sales guy because my sales guy was in the middle of a sale when i got there. i figured my sales guy would have at least called or emailed me to see how my experience was and to check to see why the numbers did not add up to a sale for them.... but no call yet.
the dealer stated they were unaware of the money back on the C63 and wanted my permission to rerun the numbers and quote me a more reasonable offer. I told them my offer of 57k out the door including all fees and taxes stood. this is on a 67k sticker. so basically that would be around 13.5K off.
im thinking they are going to come back with invoice plus 500 like originally but then with the 7500 MBUSA money off. that would leave us with a 2k dollar difference of opinion.
does anyone know what the dealer has in this car. one dealer quoted me 12% but this dealer quoted me 7%.
is 57k out the door crazy for me to offer? i dont think so. i know the car has been there a while plus they said that HAD to find a home for this car and if not it was going to cost them the month of August on their floor plan. so i thought 57 with all taxes included was a pretty good offer.
