Actually, $75k for a brand new one is not so bad and maybe you can negotiate another $5k off and get for $70k or maybe throw in $4k worth of warranty or something

The sad thing is, once you drive it of the lot and put 1000 miles on it, it's gonna drop another $10k.

That's true..... but at some point, you just have to decide to pull the trigger and get one at decent discount, right? If you keep waiting for lower pricing, you may wait forever because Mercedes will always continue to drop in price. And it doesn't help that the new body style is out and that the new models are already filling the lots.... not to mention the state of the economy..... all these existing models will continue to take big hits for a while, so you may wait a lot. At some point, it will stabilize (maybe around $15k or so) but until then, it will continue to drop. Expensive luxury cars will not hold value as Japanese cars or lower end economy cars.

True to that too. But I'll let some other poor fool take that $30,000 beating in the first year then pick it up. Sad thing is, I think the new model is HIDEOUS compared to the one for sale.

RobDoc got 34k off and 600hpvette pulled 35k off. (I got 28k off and I thought I was doing okay...)
https://mbworld.org/forums/w211-amg/...3-game-oc.html

Maybe Valencia will do 30k off once you're in the door.

Only thing about the 'free' maintenance is going all the way up there, and what exactly do they mean when they say 'maintenance'.......

It probably means they'll take care of Service A for free (around a $200-$250 value or so). Notice it says "up to 12 months" or 12K miles...

I hope you get a flogged car with problems you know nothing about.

If you got the scratch then why not? These things are about pleasure and nothing else.

From another "fool."

Guys, I really don't think he was referring to any of you, as both of you actually worked out very good deals. I believe he was mainly referring to someone who paid MSRP or over MSRP for the car, then within a couple of months.... the car depreciated by $30k+

Good try there trying to fool people here- wrong place to sell something at way over the market price. This dealership is on my "do not buy list"...

FWIW, I question the deal at Fletcher Jones that 600HPVette (no response to PM) supposedly pulled off at 35K off. I have been dickering with them for the last two weeks trying to make the same deal. I cannot get even close, the closest is 70-72K (not including Cali sales tax). This deal is within about 8K and that is for a car that has the old pricing and that has been on the ground for 220 days. FJ has many cars to choose from but none at 35K off. Perhaps a demo or some other issue with the car. Rob's car is beautiful but perhaps it is a low mileage lease. I give up...... People on the board should give enough details of their deals so others don't waste time trying to achieve the impossible.... By the way all 2009 E63 have a $15K rebate through the end of the month.

I agree with the general statements that are sometimes made here on the board about what deal they got and how great it was. Not questioning whoever is mentioned in your exact quote/statement above but in general almost always the deals are not as good as mentioned. They posters may have neglected to disclose info eg: a certain cost, tax, mileage, brass hat car, demo car, etc.

That's about right, 70-72k not including tax and fees. I couldn't do any better and more power to those who could.

Rob's car is a 7500mi. lease. It was an untitled '09, loaded p030 w/ 5,900 clean miles. Cap. cost worked out to $71.8k- NO CAP REDUCTION PAID. But, I did get the labor for my CF trim de-install and re-install & A service. So, I'll call it a $71k deal all day long, but it's NOT from FJ!
Sticker was $104,950
No B.S.

well, I've been watching and reading for a while. I bought one yesterday for 72.5
I'm happy about it, and I probably left 1k on the table. But I like the guy and I'm not about spending days emailing back and forth.
FWIW there were 108 2009 e63 left as of yesterday, five, now four, flint gray ones.
The msrp was around 96 something. (new car, delivery miles)
MB doesn't have any good rates, lease or purchase. Out the door all in 72,775. out of state, no sales tax paid yet.
transporting is an issue at the moment for me. I might have to go get it in a few weeks.
anyway..... legit deal here from north olmsted MB

FJ has two different locations in California, and they are both run almost independently. I've seen deals at one but not the other and completely different pricing. They also have a bunch of branches out of state: Chicago, Nevada, etc.... so maybe you guys were talking about different dealers

I think there are more E63s sitting at the port or something. When I bought my Flint Grey there was supposedly only four left. And now you have one. There are two I know of still at the lots in SoCal. And now the dealer I worked with is listing another one all of a sudden, including three black ones they never had before. And I kinda doubt they're getting them from other dealers(?)

They're probably now saying there are no more, just to get rid of the ones they have first, before they'll try and locate one.

fwiw, my dealer offered me 1.9 financing thru MB back in May.

That is correct, there are many cars sitting at the ports (some not even entered into the system yet) waiting their turn....
