Seats - Recontour Bolsters?
All,
I love the C63, badly want one. The only issue is the seats - the side bolstering is a little too much even at the widest setting.
Has anyone tried to have the bolsters re-contoured by an aftermarket shop?
Alternatively, has anyone tried installing E63 seats in the C63?
Thanks. I'm desperate.

I think the bolsters on the C63 are really great. And I'm broad shouldered and not built like a stick. I do like the adjustable bolsters on my E63, but rarely find myself adjusting them. The C63 seem nice and deep. Better than the E63, actually.
Maybe you just need to be with them longer and get used to it?

As promised, here are more details on my bolsterectomy...
Had the seats disassembled and redone by Riggs Brothers (an automotive upholsterer in the Chicago area) and here is what was done...
- remove rigid bars in lower bolster
- expand upper bolsters 1" in each side
- repad all bolsters with progressive foam
- repad seatback and seat bottom with high end foam (no collaps, cushy feel)
All in - $650 to do the work. Only issue so far was that the SRS light came on right after the job. Apparently MB's system doesn't care that ignition is off, so tell your shop to pull the negative cable off the battery, or just take it for an SRS reset after it's all done.
The job took almost two days because of the complexity in the seat, so prepare yourself for that.
