If you haven't bought the tune yet, the best bet is the MHP tune to match the long tube headers. Its made for them and creates the most HP across the power band. Look at the graphs and compare.
The Kleeman obviously works as Howard has proved but there is a little more to be had with the MHP tune. Depends on your budget and long term desires.

That is extremely impressive -- ![thumbs](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif)
But when you say loud are you saying..... major resonance in the cabin, at what rpm? I mean the kind of resonance/drone that makes your eardrums, fillings, sinuses and small pieces of trim in the car all VIIIBRATTTEEEE. The kind that gives you a major headache after 20 mins?
OR, is it mostly loud outside the car?
Grazie for posting!

At steady speeds such as highway driving it is just like stock. Accelerate a little and you hear more sound in the cabin than stock. Stomp on it and it is LOUD in the cabin and outside you just woke up every napping law enforcement officer within 5 miles.

Find a new shop, they don't know what they're doing.

>The transmission keeps wanting to shift.
There is a "Dyno mode" that can be accessed via the "OK" and "receive call" button on the steering wheel. It disables the electronic nannies.
Put the transmission in manual mode

The car doesn't necessarily be in dyno mode, but you will definitely need to set the tranny to Manual mode so that it won't up-shift on you.
Great numbers by the way

2005 SLK350
Thanks for the help guys.
I don't mean to hijack the thread or anything. Hopefully this might help other members that are having trouble dynoing their Benz. I know how to enable "dyno mode." I've got K&N filters, complete Supersprint exhaust system, and TTP software upgrade with tuning on my 2005 SLK350. The numbers have varied greatly and the highest ones were somewhat disappointing. The shop normally works with Porsches but they're not very familiar with the Mercedes 7spd auto. I'm not a tech or anything-could someone explain or PM me the steps in dynoing in manual mode?
I sent out emails to other shops to see what they said:
Testing these cars on a dyno requires experience. Once can not just floor the throttle on the dyno, otherwise the transmission will always down shift (on non-AMG cars that don't have manual mode). You must "roll" into the throttle- it takes a lot of practice to produce a smooth dyno curve- that's about the best I can tell you, unfortunately. It's not really something I can describe easily.
-Cory @ Kleemann (manual mode wasn't mentioned?)
Thank you for your inquiry. We have similar problem with trying to dyno Mercedes and some european cars. Therefore, we no longer offer dyno pulls on some of these vehicles.
-Mike @ shop's name withheld (has Dyno Dynamics AWD)
We dyno in manual mode and set our smoothing high to remove any spikes, Sir. Most people set the smoothing low to enhance the dyno results.
-Larry @ Macedo Motorsports (most helpful advice-as posted in this thread)

Since I forgot to mention earlier that I have a 2005 SLK350 and that I have to enable "dyno mode" differently, does the "manual mode" for dynoing still apply or is it only for the C63?

DadsC63 pulled 472 in 95 degree heat and high humidity with MHP LT's. His MKB shorty setup pulled ~425 the day before same dyno and conditions. However that setup pulled consistent 460's in cooler drier air. This drop due to conditions makes you wonder what potential the new setup has in store.

Hey Hhuges1 are you planning to get the MHP tcu/ecu or are you happy with the K1 + MHP long tube headers combo? I'm asking because the MHP tune seems very expensive and I might just get the K1 but really do want the MHP long tubes.

Starting without any mods, I would definitely get the MHP tune and pipes. I already had a K2 package and the Kleemann tune works well with the MHP longtubes but I will probably switch tunes down the road after the smoke clears from my daughter's wedding.

Hey hhughes1,
With the Kleeman K2, did that elminate any of the cats? Or did it just replace the primaries with high flow ones?
I just had my MHP headers installed last weekend using 300cel cats and it is still incredibly loud. I'm trying to figure out a way to tone it down some so I don't attract everyones attention. MHP suggests bumping up to 500 cel cats which I will probably do, but I'm not sure if that is going to be enough to bring the sound a little closer to stock. I don't mind a modest increase in sound over stock, but this is a little too much for me lol.

I will try to take some video tonight. But as you probably know...I don't think any recording device can capture what it really sounds like in person
I find it hard to believe it can be any louder than it is now, but I guess you guys running catless would say otherwise!

The K2 setup had Kleemann high flow cats in the down pipes and I deleted the rears but left the resonator. The MHP catless setup is loud at partial and obnoxious at wot however it is quiet at consistent highway speeds.
