best water filter setup for spot free rinse

i was trying to do a search but i keep getting a database error on mbworld. i'm looking for some kind of filter thing to put on the end of a garden hose so after rinsing down the car, it leaves no spots. there are people out there that dry their cars with specials towels and such but i'm wondering if anyone here goes the spot free rinse route.

I'd just buy a leaf blower and blow it dry then wipe down the door jams.

There's a portable version also which is just the same thing on wheels

that's nice... $299 for the 100 gallon, it's weird that the filter isn't as easy to find. but i think this is it

i wonder how many gallons it takes to rinse a car. maybe good for like 50 washes?

Here's the filter

But yeah, you can u do it cheaper by clearing and refilling the resin yourself instead of swapping whole filters.

Leaf blowers work, but you're still going to run into the issue of being rushed to get the water off before evaporating and leaving deposits behind. Then there's the whole noise issue. Filtered water is much better as you're working with clean deionized water to begin with.

I find a Deer Skin Chamois works best. Soft water rinse with garage hose. 4 minute wipe down. No chemicals or residue. Just pure Carnauba shining through

I have the version with the 2 long cartridges and it comes with 2 replacement bags of resin. I had the single cartridge first but it did not keep the spots off so back it went. Florida water is horrible for lime scale and this system works perfectly

I noticed sometimes my leaf blower dries the water on the car instead of blowing it off - water spots sadly.

I'm trying the Optimum rinse-free route. Washed her once so far and it came out GREAT.

Also claybar'd, polished, sealed and top coated with Chemical Guys products with my new found friend; a Porter Cable 7424XP orbital polisher.

I want no swirls or streaks in the paint, thankfully it never rains here.

OPT ONR is a great product. I use it also from time to time. Sud soak sheet is still the best option though, but OPT ONR is a great alternative, especially for those in apartments or non-filtered hard water.

I've also done a lot of research into the various spot free rinse systems and ended up getting a unit made by On The Go.

The main reason I went with this unit is that it uses two tanks with different resins in each tank. (Unlike the CR Spotless units that use a mixture of the two resins in both tanks.)

Water is deionized by passing it through both positively charged and negatively charged media to remove the minerals. Passing it through a tank of positively charged media and then through a tank of negatively charged media is a more efficient process and results in a lower cost per gallon of deionized water. (This results in a much lower operating cost over the life of the unit.)

I've been using the unit for a while now and am really impressed. I get a spot free rinse every time and even when water drips out from your mirrors or mouldings, it doesn't leave any drip lines on the car. All this in Texas, where the water is notoriously hard.

The units are available from the manufacturer On The Go but they are available for a lower cost from one of their dealers, Detail Perfection .

If anyone wants to know more about the unit, feel free to PM me.

Mr. Clean is really good and inexpensive. I don't wash with it but just rinse and it never leaves spots and I've been using it ever since - like 3 years. You just have to buy the new filters every 10-20 washes and that's it.

Doesn't rinsing the car with Mr Clean leave some kind of residue on the car?
