C63 and C55 at Mosport (track day)
After lunch, the track finally opened again, and we maximized our track time. The weather cooperated too, as the track finally dried up after the on and off morning rain. What fun we had.......it was HARD work trying to keep with North44 in his C63......any lift of the throttle or mistake on my part and I'm left in the dust. The power of the C63 is amazing, as North44 just killed me on the long back straight........the only chance I had was trying to make up some time in the corners.
Here are 2 videos:
My quickest recorded lap (ever for me) at Mosport.....(chasing North44):

I did at least get to do an autocross, in the S600, long story

Yes Nick I am hooked again....
Nick, don't think I can make the 24th. Snows are already on my track wheels and the p-zero's are in the trash. Could run on my 19's though....Let me think about it. There is a charity track day on the 24th with 6th Gear at Mosport that I was thinking of volunteering at. Good cause.
Here are a view from me following PCV in his 55:

What AMAZES me in this video, is that the SRT actually pulls on the C on the back straight away. Espically since you were catching him on the front half. That SRT was laying down some power. Was he stock

Anyway, GREAT footage, and thanks for posting

On flat out/test days, I to would have waited for the signal, as it is not worth it in the long run
Again, my hat is tip to you both

And a BIG oh yeah on the lamb!!!!!
It was one of the most fun track days I've had because it was quite a challenge/thrill to try to keep up with North44. I think we were going at it (usually me trying desparately to keep up) for quite a few laps for an extended period of time. It certainly did raise some attention with other people that day to have 2 AMG V8's roaring down the front straight one after the other.
For me to match North44's laptime of 1:41, I was driving closer to the limit than I have done before in the C55 or 135i......it was a little scary and hard to maintain over many laps. If I drive more comfortably at less than that limit (1:42-1:43 laptime), North44 would simply slowly pull away from me lap by lap, as the C63 is simply a faster machine. I'm sure North44 could drive at that pace the whole day without a sweat in his C63. In fact, I'm sure North44 will go faster than 1:41 when he goes again next year.
With regards to the green SRT, it was a fully prepped race car with a roll cage and completely stripped out interior...definitely not a street car The owner told me the car has well over 500HP. The guy was very nice.....he came up to North44 and myself afterwards and complimented our rides.
I was surprised to see Brett Goodman is STILL there

He was my sponsor many, many moons ago. Really nice gentlemen, even if he did speak gramerly correct English, ha, ha
You guys have brought up some REALLY good old memories/days.
THANKS!!!!
Thanks splinter. Had some excellent advice from PCV on Tracking this year and from webbie on in-car video setups. Thanks guys. I look forward to next season.(shopping already)
