High Oil temperature?

My C63 is experiencing oil temperatures of 240-257 F in slow traffic (not stop-and-go) it cools relatively fast once its moving above 40MPH, outside temperature about 70F coolant temperature 199-210F why is the oil temperature so high? It gets really uncomfortable around the gas pedal area. Considering installing an external oil cooler, dealer says it’s nothing wrong but I do. Have any of you had the same problem? Thanks for the help

Are you driving in manual mode? Do you have any mods? I do get into the high 230s in manual when driving hard in the street and into 260s on the track.

That sounds way too high. If I consistantly push my car driving it fast I still get like 225 max...but according to you you're not even pushing it that much. I would recommend getting it checked.

225 max, i do that driving down my block the most i got it up to was 262F and it was 90F outside and i was abusing the heck out the car. i also have seen temps go high from driving normal while in traffic. thats normal but his temp is high. unless his stuck in 3 hr traffic then that will do it.

Something is not right. Under normal load the temp should peak in the mid 220's on a hot day in traffic. The temps you are running are typical during a 20 minute assualt at a road course not daily driving.

Here is the scoop I was driving on C mode, I have no mods, and I drove for about 20 min in traffic, my dealer said is normal for the car but I could bring it in if I wanted to and they can check it out to be sure (what are they going to do? drive the **** my of car? and then say "I'm sorry we could not duplicate the problem" crap. I think I'm going to take my car to another dealer and have then check it, now days most of the dealers are all crap.

125 degrees C is not desirable. Either the oil temp indicator is out of wack (not probable) or you need to provide for better engine cooling (most probable). Have it checked. The oil temp should go steady to where the coolant temp is 85 to 105 degrees C.

Well, here is what the Mercedes Benz Factory Tech Rep tells me: Up to 325 its fine "We run then hard at the academy and its always above 300" above 325 a warning light will come on. Worry about the coolant temperature not the oil, oil temperature its measured at the crankcase Yha, Yah its always very hot.
