The K3 2x80mm throttle kits should be available the last week of January.

I dont think anyone is going to buy the throttle body because its just too much! You can do a lot for 4K!

Somebody already did bought them...ask Cory!

The Throttle response is enhanced A LOT...and the car feels a lot stronger....will have some Dyno charts for it maybe for next week!

Here is a pic of the Kleemann units vs Stock Units for visual comparison.....

Very cool Rob. Thank you for sharing. Do you have a before/baseline dyno?

Yes, we did a few dynojet runs before installing the TB. It made 425 whp. I'll post the before and after dyno graph when the car goes again to the dyno.

So what did the after-dyno numbers yield for the Kleeman TBs. Can some one please post numbers for a C63. Cant believe there is no definitive before and after data yet.

Well 5 months later and no results

One of three possibilities here:

1. It made NO power and they are not happy with the results after spending almost 3K.
2. It never was installed.
3. Still tweaking, hard to imagine since it was a simple throttle body change.

My vote is 1

I believe these T/B's were originally designed with FI in view. Since FI has never happened and probably won't they mine as well try to sell them to the N/A guys and they are not gaining anything and potentially hurting power down low. Just my thoughts.

do you think they are regular 80mm t/b`s that goes in the 55`s kompressor?if so it would be easy to get them from the dealer, but will they fit in the same housing ?

Hi! well at least in the car we installed the TBs they did make a difference, but we did additional various mods and did not dyno tested the before/after with just th tbs....But we did race tested the car against another car, and we gained about 2 car lenghts. some the answers is any of above!

Soooo.....did this full K3 do what it was supposed to do? I have an E63 and cannot seem to find anyone for the life of me that has an E63 with the K3 package that can confirm the power it actually makes for the $9k - $10k that it costs. I would love to do this kit, but I need to know it is REAL power.

Cory...if you want to cut me a hell of a deal on the K3 kit, I will give you the before and after dyno numbers that it seems everyone wants here.

I just found this thread and my first thoughts were exactly what you said.

M156 OE TB's flow so much cfm it's rediculous. OE TB's would be sufficient for FI applications, if they were somehow available. But, that will most likely not happen, as we all know.

I could understand the utility in larger TB's if we had boost, but like you said, the power low down in the curve would likely be affected. I wouldn't think it would be a fun mod to have for daily driving.

Maybe up high in the power band, hp would increase and when the car is screamin down a straight that could be a benefit, but low down grunt would probably suffer.

Mt 996TT has only one oversized 75mm throttle body. It doesn't seem to need 2. I think this is pig hooey to make a product just because they can and they can't think of anything else that they know how to do.

Someone should do a little PiR2 calc on two normal throttle bodies or look up their flow rate. Once you know the flow rate you know how much fuel you can flow. Once you know that, you can determine how much HP you can make compared to current.
Jim
