Stupid MB parts/service employee was mocking me for having the "cheapest" AMG

I was in a local dealership to check prices of some MB parts. I asked how much the 6.3 Liter emblem on the fenders were and his response was that the higher level AMGs like the e63 or cls63 have that emblem but the "smallest" engine c63 doesn't have it. I was assuming that HE was assuming the c63 doesn't have the same engine as those cars. How do I know that he was mocking me and not just stating his opinion? Because of the way he said it and how he smiled with his coworker next to him after he said it. His coworker even gave a little laugh after that comment. Now if someone thinks that I'm a little sensitive or exaggerating, this is actually like the 3rd or 4th time a MB parts/service employee has said this to me. The other times were over the phone, but they all had the same arrogant attitude comment that the c63 was the smallest/cheapest AMG. Now, me being 25 yrs old I'm hardly offended by these losers who make 35 grand a year and have the nerve to insult someone who drives a nicer car than they do, but I just thought I'd mention it because its just a little annoying. I do have a young appearance/voice and I assume that's why these losers felt the need to degrade my car.

If it's emotionally traumatizing to you, go to a different dealership maybe?

That sucks, i always get compliments on my car on my dealer even being the entry line AMG car i get positive comments on it always. You should just ignore those fools as they probably wished they had the beast.

Its so funny man...I am young myself but coming up on that "maturity" I guess where I can see myself from both sides. You can tell the guys who are responding like this clearly know there are more important things in life, and even though it was annoying at the time, you are reading too much into it, dont waste your time, energy, or thoughts.

Funny, I can imagine the OP all heated and the calm collected responses looking at him like...ok, go to a different dealer. next problem?

They won? How do they "WIN"?

I don't think their intention was to "get under my skin" rather than to just insult someone who is much younger than them with a nicer car.

No wonder this forum has the reputation on MBW that it does.

Next time ask them to show you the car they drive. Is the employee 'Gen Y' like you?

To me it would have been a fun situation

I would have stepped back and just asked " Are you jealous or stupid "

Then smiled and wlaked away, informed the dealership owner that I was NEVER coming back or recomending them to anyone becuase of their poor customer relationship.

And smoked my tires off their lot

But, then again that's me, and I do tend to be just a little aggresive

At least according to my wife

based on his comment about the c63, is seems that a) he hasnt seen one and doesnt know that there is in fact a 6.3L emblem, 2) thinks you have a c300 or c350 and are trying to badge it as a c63, or 3) is just completely uneducated and doest even know about a c63 or is jealous
whatever the case is, go back and confront him about it

I wouldn't read too much into people that work in the service departments at MB. Last week when picking my car up (E63) the guy gets out and asks me if its a V6 or V8? I had to look to make sure it was my car! I just chuckled and drove off.

On top of that don't they usually send out customer satisfaction surveys? Give them a poor ranking next time

@LP560-4, don't look too much into it. The only person you should be concerned about when it comes to your car is you and your service manager.

Hmmm. That's unusual.

Do you wear a funny hat and have a really high pitched voice?

Maybe that's it?

They are laughing at you because you want to 'fake up' your car with an emblem that doesn't belong on the model you have. I work at another German Dealer and we get people like yourself wanting to badge up their cars. It's quite funny actually. Just save up and buy the real thing and don't be a poser or if you have to have the badges go to another Dealer............beware they may laugh at you also...........

Look, I'm not trying to put someone down because they earn a low wage, but this guy was clearly trying to insult me. He works the counter at a parts department and he's not the parts manager or anything. I doubt they pay him 75k a year.

I do have a c63 but I guess they could have assumed that I was trying to fake AMG my car since they didn't see my car. But their comment on about how the smaller engine c63 doesn't have the 6.3 liter emblem was a ignorant comment.
