Why did AMG...

...improve C63 PPP engiene power with SLS stuff instead of just ECU reprogramming?

The true potential is in the iron, not the software. Hardware limitations can never be solved by software.

Software is just a means to get the hardware going.

Hardware comes 1st

Not only that...you can drop the tune on top of the mechanical performance upgrades and make some serious HP

I'm dying to put on 125 HP NOS shot on my car but cant find any shop that's doin' in?????

maybe with the SLS parts installed aftermarket tuners can run more aggressive tunes on the PPP equiped C63 putting out even more horsepower.

I still haven't heard anything about this around the dealerships (have to admit though, I have yet to ask). Does anyone even have an approximate date when this package will become available?

They have been delivering P31 cars since middle of January. Package became available with December '09 build dates.

Not that I'm complaining, but I'm sure "justification of cost" had something to do with it.... Charging $6,000 for a +30 hp ECU tune would drive customers away, but changing some hardware with it, makes it more attractive
