MERC63's tire review!
I've been threw 7 sets of rear tires now in 22k KM. This is my review of what your going to get from the tires I've used so far.
Car is C63 with Renntech Stage2 ECU tune, 520hp. 19inch multispoke rims all around.
Hoosier A6 - Used these on the rear. They have a 40 tread wear. Used them for a day at the dragstrip which included 3 burn outs. Also got about 3 weeks aggressive street driving out of them. They would grip with no wheel spin when warm on the street and the strip. These tires kick up everything that is on the road and throw it at your quarter panels. I drove in the rain with these, but they are very dangerous. Don't even think about taking ESP off when its wet out.
Kumho KU31 Ecsta SPT - Used on rear and front. Fronts lasted 22K KM. Provided good grip over all. 320 tread wear. Rear would last around 5K KM with aggressive driving, ESP off and lots of spinning around corners and off the line. The rears were only used when car was stock as well.
Lexani/Nexen N3000 - 340 Tread wear. Used on rear with tuned ECU. They spin a lot. All of first and most of second gear will spin when full throttle off the line. Used for about 2K KM and they still look brand new. The tread depth is significantly deeper then the Kumho's. I haven't measured it, but its visibly deeper. I expect these to last much longer then the Kumho's with the higher tread wear and deeper treads.
So if you are looking for lots of grip go with something 200 or lower tread wear. If you want something that's going to last and have a bit of fun with go with the N3000. You will spin lots but they will also last longer.

I ran 255/35/19 on my rears. The inside of the tire rubbed slightly on the inner fender maybe over hard bumps or something.

Merc63 - and how do you like your RENNtech ecu flash tune?
Also, how did you run at the 1/4 mi. strip?
Also, how did you run at the 1/4 mi. strip?
Tunes awesome. I ran 0.7th a second and 5-6MPH faster. Only got 3 runs in though. I should be able to do better after working on the launch.
My MPH was faster then cars that were running 11.7 But my 60 time was ****.
