Will 40 series tires on the rear and 35 on the front have adverse consequences?

I need to change the rear tires on the C63, and I happen to have two new 255 40 18s in my garage but the stock C63 tires are 255 35 18. Will putting the slighly taller tires on the rear have any adverse consequences? My primary concern would be problems with the traction control and abs systems. I would still be running 35 series on the front.

Thanks so much!

I've used 35 height with 19 inch rims if that helps. I think yours should work..

The overall Diameter difference is only 0.06 inches.

The bigger problem would be mounting 225s on the rear rims... the tires are too narrow or the rims are too wide.

I think he posted saying they're 255s, not 225s.

How do you work out 0.06 inches????
35% of 255 is 89mm x2(top and bottom of tyre) is 178mm
40% of 255 is 102mm x2 is 204mm
diff of 26mm or 1 inch overall diameter.
That how you work it out my friends.:

Thanks for the quick replies! I assume then that 1" difference would be too much of a variance between the front and rear? Both from a technical as well as a cosmetic standpoint?
