Attended the TOP GUN RUN in Miami on November 14, 2009 and drove my Renntech modified CL65 and Renntech's C63. Much more organized than the MileMarker-1 event in October with more accurate speed measuring equipment.

The C63 ran 175.729, and the CL65 185.082.

Everyone at the event was surprised at how well the Mercedes ran. It was about 80 degress with a small head wind. Going back in December for their next event. Anyone who hasn't done this, should.

I have included a list of the cars and their fastest speed for the mile. Doesn't show the mods, but most cars were modded. For example one of the 2010 Camaros listed below had a twin turbo kit, one of the M3s had a stroker motor, etc.

Hrm im am driving down to Ft.Lauderdale for Vacation over that whole week. Very tempting to take the other few hours down and hit up this event. Wonder what the Kleemann would put down ... imagine high 160's if not into the 170's

Must have been something wrong with the timing equipment because you out ran four of the Corvettes. Two Z06's and two C6's and we all know thats impossible.

Amazing the ZR1 only beat you buy a few mph!!!!!! You'll get them next time!!

The Vettes were driver impaired. We have been told countless times how inferior a modded C63 is to a C6 esp Z06 at high speeds. lol

I was amazed as well and can understand why you miss the 65. I am having a hard time deciding what to get after the CL65; however, there are worse decision to make, so don't feel sorry for me.

Also, I see you have an E55 now.

The guys at Renntech may be using an E55 in the near future as a test bed for some new products they developed, and I unfortunately, may be forced to take it to the dragstrip and the standing mile to collect data.

 

Maybe the drivers misshifted? Driver error plays a big role.

 

SGC, what have you done different to the car since the runs in Oct? You and I (in DADSC63) were VERY close and just curious to see what if anything was different for this run.

 

Who piloted the C63? Who's car is this?

 

I'm just the driver . I know Renntech has been working on inlet scoops for the Airbox and doing R&D on throttle bodies. Still has cats and ran with full exhaust.

 

I did, and its Renntech's car. When it's not being driven by the owner or his wife, I get to do some testing.

 

Does this car just have the ecu and airbox upgrade (no headers)? That is impressive for so little mod.

What has this car done in the 60-130...based on its 1/4 trap speed it should be around 8 flat or so.

 

Impressive run for both cars. Great job.

Will you be tracking her at any 1/4 mile tracks?

The C63 does have short tube headers.

I have never tested it from 60 - 130.
