C63 ECU Tuning!?

I know there are a 100 other posts out there regarding ECU tunes, but I wanted to get some peoples opinion about which ECU Tuning would be the best way to go. I want to spend under $2,500 so MHP is out, and So i am left considering the GT Pro Shop ECU and the Evosport ECU. Any suggestions about which one is better? or any other ECU Tune that i missed in the under $2,500 price range.

Thanks!!

We did the Evosport tune, along with Performance pulley, Euro intake boxes, and cotton filters. I had one of the pro drivers do a couple laps in my C63 AMG at the high performance track last month. The pro driver returned from the course and remarked the back end was breaking loose, and he noticed the speedometer reading 110 mph! Kept calling my car the monster..... I'm happy with my Evo tune. Suit yourself.

I am always amazed at how people don't choke on the pricing of a tune.
The link above shows and proves that all the tunes will yield about the same hp gains but people still spend their hard earn dollars on the more expensive tuners.
I come from the Audi and BMW world where you get a $500 tune for an RS4 (I agree it yields less hp) and $1,500 for 335i/135i and it yields over 100hp (I understand it is easier because it is not N/A but you don't see tunes for the 55AMG that cheap).
Let's not even talk about Z06 tunes for less than $1,000 (reason why I chose Z06 is that is not mass produced).
If the tuner is close to you then that makes a huge difference.
It is you guys with money to burn that feed the beast and allow the tuners to charge too much money. Stop the insanity
I have decided to go with Jerry (LET Motorsports). Great service for now (he called me and spend 20 mins with me over the phone at 8PM to go over my questions and how to ship my ECU). The difference in price will allow me to spend it on X pipes and other goodies.
I will try to get a dyno day with others C63 next year and will post on the forum the results.
I know this subject has been beaten to death but I just needed to vent.

Thanks for attempting misleading everyone! lol Nice Holiday Spirit. We know you love MHP and that is fine, but when you push them by attempting to "throw others under the bus" it does raise questions for all.

As I personally told you and posted on these forums, your tune that you got from us was incorrect. You received a V1 tune before Powerchip unlocked the potential of the ECU. You know and knew this, and we offered to pay for your dyno and any costs to send ECU back and forth to get you the proper file. Again, this is all very well documented on this site.

Yes, one other person who bought the tune at the same time as you had the same problem. So 2 people out of dozens. Both of you were offered to be fully compensated for the problem and a full refund was offered.

Thanks
Brad

BB451, if you have any questions on our tune or C63 products, feel free to contact me directly anytime!

There are a few good offerings out there, so if you choose wisely you will be happy. Although I think we offer the best value across the board on all of our C63 products, if you stick with known tuners you really cannot go wrong.

My recommendation is to call up and talk to the owner(s) of these tuners and go with who you are most comfortable with.

thanks
brad

Oh yea what happen when pc came to ny they could not get the car to get that hp gain u claim what's up with that. Or r u ganna flip this on P.C now?

lol, there are dyno's all over the net and this site. You just want to discredit them for your personal bias. That is up to you, I realize that no words can ever dissuade you from your belief. That is fine, you are more than entitled to your opinion.

To set the record straight, the 2nd user was at the same time as yours (look it up, if you don't recall correctly).

I have no idea what you are talking about regarding New York and I have no plan on "flipping" anything. PC is a development partner and we work together.

thanks
Brad

We got our ECU tune a few months back from Evosport. Sorry, no problems since install, except for smoking the rear tires ever since. Great bunch of people at Evosport, excellent support. The product speaks for itself, both on and off the track. The Evosport tune is a winner.

I have run both the PC AND MHP tunes in my car, and I am currently running a version of the the evosport/Powerchip tune in my car if that tells you anything...I might also add that I own the quickest and fastest 63 powered AMG in the world (both on and off the bottle), I have spared no expense, if there were a better product available it would be on my car already, so if performance is your goal the answer is simple, go with PC, they have invested more R&D time and have proven results. On the dyno, on the drag strip and on road courses the PC tune can't be touched.

Those look like dymags. If so, do they make that much of a difference for the price? Thanks for the tune info.

The dymags were worth about 20whp on the clk63, but sadly, they are out of business.

Thanks
